After a recent request by myself to the West Bedlington Town Council to have a footpath installed in a known dangerous location, I was told that NCC were to be contacted and requested to survey the situation. At the most recent WBTC meeting it was stated that NCC had been on site and quoted their price to undertake the work. In the meantime contractors working for NCC have installed a new lamp post to replace the existing corroded post. For "ease" the new post has been installed half a metre forward, thus blocking any footpath that may be built now or in the future. I'm Just Wondering if the footpath is going to be built, does anyone care about the money that is being wasted to relocate the post due to lack of communications at County Hall ? Past experience tells me, don't bother contacting them, your wasting your time. I've tried previously to place my comments in the News Post Leader only for the newspaper to edit my correspondence in favour of NCC. I know there are representatives of the County Council visiting this website regularly, would any one of you like to comment?

I think the shop HPW is enquiring about was called " Keenans"

Your probably right Maggie but at the moment there are lots of people who aren't using the car parks, I've never known a town with so many individuals who prefer to park on restricted areas of the front street and cause mayhem.

Going towards Bedlington after the gates to the stables was another row of houses that extended to where the Netherton waggon way crossed the road these were called Sunnyside for some reason. I used to get off the No3 bus from Ashington tech then walk up the waggon way home after a pint in the Lord Clyde. I remember the barman in there towered above me and I am over 6ft! I had a look over the bar to see if he was stood on something! Can't remember the name of the second pub though.
It's here.

Me and Maggie want one!! Not an' Anna' obviously - maybe a Mario or a Roberto or even a good old Fred would do at a pinch!

Well...............I'm having no bother with pass words since the changes but I'm now getting messages (only while I'm on this site) saying "Anna wants to talk to you" I thought it must be a new facility that Fourgee had introduced to chat to other members................after clicking on the message

Pilgrim,
There are many words I could use to describe council meetings however for the sake of council understanding them the expression being used currently has too many syllables to be universally understood by all members! In fact at some council meetings……..higher up ones that is…… you might have to wake members up to ask them if they understood!
(I wish everyone HAD to attend council meetings and see the performance of the people they are electing! Pity Pratchett is gone would have made an excellent source for his type of humour!)
Well that one was worth the green arrow up button .......Maggs!

One of our councillors claims to be an electrician Vic but we're not sure if he's Positive or Negative so we'll wait until you arrive!!

On the web cam it would appear the tree is only lit half way up, then a thin line going up to a larger lit object, is it a feature or was the ladder just too short? Looks to be lots of other Xmas lights!
Electrician required Vic !
