I get the impression - and have done for some time - that the reason she, and others, are so steadfastly opposed to MAN4Bed is simply because it wasn't their idea,
The Town Fair which attracted between 7-10 thousand people got no mention in the press, could this be for the same reason? They're quick to jump on the Bandwagon with front page news when an announcement is being made about the new Lidl Store.

Two very conflicting reports published on the same day in the local press. One County Councillor saying we can't pretend there is a money tree at the bottom of the high street and that they as councillors are as passionate as others about the town. In another report regarding a neighbouring town the public are being invited to view the £74 million investment plans of NCC. It would appear that there is a money tree at the bottom of some high street albeit not Bedlington or perhaps could it be some councillors are more passionate than others? The report from the News Post Leader also states there has been "too much unnecessary action so far which has not helped our community" I can only assume this refers to the Make a Noise for Bedlington campaign, a group that would not exist had the Councillors done what they were elected for, representing the people of Bedlington rather than trying to defend the misdeeds of NCC.

Cannot believe that people are complaining about new business coming to the town, We'll it must be working cos all the lasses in Bedlington are Beauty's.. keep it up girls, take no notice of the critics.

If this is not dangerous to future occupants then the wall of the Whitley Memorial may finish the job.
A crack has appeared onto the Main Street and the wall could fall.
Is it not the "Church School" wall that belongs to Dysart Developments that is cracked?

I'm well impressed Foxy! Not only do you remember the date but even the time! Your lass is lucky! Nice to have bumped into you, by the way.
Nice to met you Canny Lass,
bit of a surprise for Malcolm and Adam and we all enjoyed the night, let Maggie know next time you visit and we could do a re-run!!

seamus,
Brian played for Burnley in the 60s and then Southampton into the 70s but his father didn't own a sweet shop.

Thanks 3g. I think I'll give it a go.
Foxy, what's a 'charm'?
Charms[edit]
Windows 8 adds a bar containing a set of five shortcuts known as the "charms", invoked by moving the mouse cursor into the top or bottom right-hand corners of the screen, or by swiping from the right edge of a compatible touchpad or touch screen.
The charms consist of:
- "Search": Searches for files, system settings, applications, or content provided by applications
- "Share": Sends content to another app (not installed by default in Windows Server)
- "Start": Opens the Start screen; behaves similarly to the former Start button
- "Devices": Sends content to another device, such as a printer (not installed by default in Windows Server)
- "Settings": Allows access to system and application settings
Of course Canny Lass Bedlington also has quite a few "Charmers"
-
I switched to Windows 10 last week, it was worth it just to get rid of those "charms" as they call them. They had a mind if their own.

Active Northumberland and Northumberland County Council are investing £3.5 million to modernise Concordia.
Something about new family entertainment at the centre.
Work to start September.
Clip and Climb Activity
Soft Play facilities
Ten pin bowling
Bruce Ledger chief exec of Active Northumberland says this is just the start of our site improvements
Councillor Val Tyler cabinet member for arts leisure and culture says
".We recognise that there is an increased demand for proved facilities and the refurbishment will make the centre fit for the 21st century"
If health and wellbeing is so very important we can expect great things to happen in Bedlington.
After all Val is our very own County Councillor and lives right here in Bedlington.
.
What a good post Maggie, and some of us know exactly where your coming from. Wish I could vote this up twice!!

the public will be involved with them plans the whole way through.
Are you on happy baccy Adam? The invisible Man aka one of our County Councillors has already told us via the Press what it will be.
-
Beautiful beasts at Coningsby at the moment - who knows what this is?
Same as those in post number 26? if so it's Russian.

I am sure it will be a great effort by all although it was more than just a litter pick for those that had to tidy the front of the Top Club earlier. Well done
It was a great effort by all who were there Bedlingtonian, but it was the Bedlington in Bloom group, Wendy from MAN 4 Bed, and two of our Independent West Bedlington Town Councillors including the Mayor who put in the effort tonight, The people who criticize the most on this site and other social media sites were missing, I've no doubt some had commitments with family competing in the finals of the Underwater Double Decker Bus Championships and others would be hard pushed to get a Sitter for the pet Hamster but Howay where were they?

The tubs he refers to are now planted out Alison.
-
is there much point doing this as some of the hanging baskets look dead and there are no plants in the square tubs near market tavern
I would guess they'll be planted out nearer the time rosco, this gives the Low Life who destroy them less time to act.
-
Some of our Labour Councillors have their priorities all wrong. Rather than representing the people who voted them into office, they are more intent on trying to justify the misdeeds of NCC against Bedlington.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone, I did keep it quiet Canny Lass, once I was told too many birthdays can be a killer I decided to stick on 50 and that's where I am today.
