The boy's name Arris, while not one of the most common names, wasn't too rare at the beginning of the 20th century. There was one in my family born 1917.

canny lass, the name of my mate is.... Arras,... I'm still in touch with him, Arras Haley who you may remember from Westridge, I believe there is a town in France with the same name.

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet.

He also ate very little, which made himrather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath.

This made him. (Oh, man, this is so bad, it’s good. . .) A super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

    Do they come any worse?

    Life should be lived backwards!

Just think how that would be …

The most unfair thing about life is that it always ends in death! It ought to be the other way round. We should die first, then it’s over and done with and out of the way. Then we chould have a few years in an old people’s home before being kicked out for being too young and healthy and when we start work we should get a gold watch on our very first day. Then we could work 40 odd years until we are young enough to really enjoy having a pension, drink and party, party, party! Time for infant school next - a little kid with no need for responsibilities and then on to being a baby before spending the last nine months at a spa with central heating and food deliveries. AND the whole thing would be rounded off with an orgasm!

You forgot to add watching the wedding video in reverse, the bride walking up the aisle, getting into the taxi and going back to her mother:)

  4. Drag it out until nearer May of next year when your County Councillors are looking for your support, Alternatively there's an MP in Ashington who could be persuaded to visit Bedlington if you promise a full page spread in the local rag. You never know your luck, they could take a day off from their prefered duties and actually do something for you.

This morning at 07:54 successfully loaded a photo - Westrridge c1950 Class ?? -, that has, on approx 10 attempts, failed to load over the past 4 days, into the album  'Westridge School - End of term class photos'

In my euphoria, (and confirming computer was plugged in) I switched to the album - Bedlington Station 1st School - and attempted to upload 'Class 4 1959-50 Mrs Patterson' - with the result Error 1S111/1.

Why does the sun go on shining?

Why does the sea rush to shore?

Don'y they know it's the end of the world cos the Gallery doesn't love me anymore!

Why does my heart go on beating
Why do these eyes of mine cry
Don't they know it's the end of the world
It ended when you said Error 1S111/1.

Foxy - this is just a guess. The images you have displayed in this topic have an approx size of 10 x 7 ins. and I am guessing that this size is what the system has automatically resized the uploaded image to so it can post within the posting. If I select the photo, by 'mouse-click'  the system appears to display the original uploaded image with a size of approx 60 x 40 ins !!

Could you have the size setting on your camera to 60 x 40 ins? You could try changing the size on you camera and see if this system allows you to load multiple smaller images.

Of course I could be totally on the wrong track and GGG will have an answer.

This is your photo downloaded into my system - Microsoft Digital Pro 10 - see the sizes on the left.

Thanks for that Eggy, I'll have a bit fiddle after the weekend, but I've had problems that weren't there before, ever since the website was updated so lets hope your right.

Lovely pics Foxy1 I must get over to Bedlington for this next year. Can you book table 25 for me for the next picnic? Merc can you abandon table 36? (the one with radiator and street view) for my visit? Maggie, have you got a bed available? Anybody, have you got a bed available?

I wouldn't think there'll be a problem booking table 25 and can't see a problem with the bed, however getting Merc to change his daily routine could be rather challenging!

  8. Don't bother, once you get him  and dig your claws in he'll become awkward, hell want to go home to get better looked after and as you know all homes come with large bills. You'll drive him to drink and after a while he'll need help to get home and more big bills. When you file for divorce no one will want to help and he'll end up on the scrap heap just like the rest.

ok I see you're one of those people who think ONLY people who LIVE in Bedlington should be allowed to comment on things that happen to Bedlington,in that case this forum would be a waste of time because in your world you could all meet in the Market Club and have a chat about the old days.

So are you retracting your original statement where you did say it had nothing to do with you ? and  I'm only one voice with an opinion which doesn't make this forum a waste of time. In my world  I dont visit the Market Place Club..
