Photo from Helen Millar on the Bygone Bedlington Facebook group. Helen's dad, Bill pearcey played for Bedlington Mechanics in the 50's as well as other local . We haven't managed to identify this team as the strip does not match any of those in the Gallery 'Sports' albums. Anyone any ideas on the team or names of anyone in the photo?

Men from the Dr. Pit Colliery formed Bedlington Mechanics FC in 1949, initially playing in the Northumberland Miners Welfare League before entering the Northern Combination in 1952. They won the Northumberland Minor Cup in 1954 and were league champions the following season which enabled them to be promoted into the Northern Alliance where they remained for the next 8 seasons. Home games were played in the centre of the town at Millne Park, the land was owned by Jimmy Millne, a successful local businessman and he provided a very generous arrangement with the Committee. However, in the early 1960’s there was a dispute and the Mechanics had to relocate to the “A Pit” Welfare Park at Bedlington Station. Sadly, crowds dwindled and income fell to such an extent that in 1963 they were forced to disband.

These are the tnings I am thinking about :- design and produce a certificate using my Winows Vista + Microsoft Digital Image pro 10 (as that is the only software I have print off the certificate - and as I am no professional that would be to an A4 sheet of paper. What dimensions would the certificate be = what are the standard picture frame sizes, between A5 & A4, that TFOWBC could by to fit certificate into Posting a certificate to TFOWC - looking at their FB page they don't have an address for where to post anything to and if they did it would have to have a letter box wide enough to accept an A4 sheet,8.27 x 11.69 inches or 21 x 29.7 centermeters, wth cardboard support to stop it getting bent/damaged in the post. ------------------------------------------------------ I will let you know if I come up with anything -

I would have to have a bit clart about and see if I could come up with anything - don't hold your breath but if I manage to create one I will post it on here first for the members to agree to. I will still post the text and images above onto their FB page and if anything comes of me clarting I will see what we can do.
