I assume it stems from our childhood pastime of 'plodging in the clarts'. Because many of the old photos are damaged or the image uploaded is a photo, with flash, of a photo (rather than a scan) then I attempt to repair them (Microsoft Digital Pro 1o) and enhance the colours. I haven't kept the original of this 1965 Mrs fox's class photo but this is an example of Before and After clarting :- -
What about No 40. Should I change it to Christine Rowell?

It is CL - this one by Foxy from the pit heap. The building in the foreground, right side on Keith's and Left side on Foxy's I believe is a building from the old 'A' pit that they used to store materials whilst they were building the estate. @John Fox (foxy) will be able to confirm, or deny, that -

@Canny lass That's just my naming the photos when I start to enhance/photoshop and add text etc. When I am finished 'clarting' I normally rename the photo before uploading but in this case, and probably many others, I forgot.

@HIGH PIT WILMA - I stumbled on a Facebook group - Friends of Bates Colliery. I joined the group to see what the members were saying and what images they were posting. The group Admin guy is Eddie Appleby. Did you know a painting of the colliery has been added into a 48ft mural on Union Street :-

Agree with the legalization but not the taxing. In my mind that just gives the illegal traders of cannabis the opportunity to undercut the legal price and crate a black market. Legalization should be contrasted with decriminalisation, which removes criminal charges from an action, but leaves intact associated laws and regulations. But it wouldn't really matter what happened, legalization or cannabis on prescription, someone would still find an illegal market for it

Photo and names from Alan Rigg.- Facebook - Bedlington remembered.Welcome @Emma Cuthbert - can't recall any photos or info on East Hartford having been posted on the site. Entered "East Hartford" into the 'Search Box' - top right of the screen and the few comments that were returned only reference East Hartford - no info. I think the only old photo from east Hartford that I have seen is the one on the Durham Mining Museum site showing a small bit of the village with the colliery behind. Numbers added @Rigger. This one was posted on the sixtownships group by John Dawson with the info - Class 5 - 1965. However this is another copy, posted on Bedlington remembered by 'Alanc' as Class 4R1 1965 with 7 names :- Joe Knox - Alan Charlton - Kenny Campbell - Lenny Wilson - Maureen Hindhaugh - Yvonne Logan & Billy Stoker. But the names were not linked to individuals. These names also appear on another photo in this album that is labelled - Westridge Class of 1965 posted by Alan Charlton.
