  1. Been talking to the landlady today:

Its the lease thats up for sale, and she's very interested in the source of the allegation, as she has had no such fine from Punch, who runs the pub....

So, if you could contact her and discuss this slanderous post, she'd be very happy to put you straight.

Also, theres a new game in the pub she'd like made public...

..every sunday, she's putting up 6 pints to the winner of a pool challange.

Pot as many pool balls as you can, after the break, the most potted wins 6 pints. other rules apply, but can be clarified in the bar. There is also a Key draw every sunday for anyone who wants to play, the tickets are £1 and the box contains £50 so far.... its £20 if your ticket is drawn, even if you dont open the box, so its a £70 jackpot next week with 11 keys left to draw, from a possible 16 keys at the beginning..

draw is at 4PM on sunday!

  2. I totally agree.

I currently work 32 hours, as working any more than that means i will actually be worse off to the tune of almost £3 per extra hour up to 40 hours, and £1.50 worse off for each hour after that up to 60 hours.

Only after working a 60 hour week would i recieve anything near what i do with 32 hours and benifits. and that to me is simply not worth it at £6.25 an hour!

  3. Buying kegs of beer other than from brewery, brewery finding out, agreeing to brewery fitting meters to pumps after paying fine(in region of 2 grand) yes I agree this would be very hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I take it you have proof of this?

Or are you talking from hear-say again?

  4. Black pudding and ....

    o - k...

i do agree with the winging part tho. Ask my lass, she's sick of me moaning about every little thing!

The thing is, if its a service, it normally results in something better...

Bad Pint? Tell them! i've complained more than once, and been re-imbursed.

Poor Service? Complain! Your paying for it! Get them telt!

In the liong run they'll take it one of 2 ways.

Constructivly, and improve whats wrong, or they'll spit the dummy out. Something i tend to do when i don't get my own way :D

  5. Monsta would only buy tapwater from what i hear on here! and he's winge about that being *****!  :D

As for the meets, i cant see it happening... people on here dont use their real names for a reason.

Good idea though. in the foundation.

I know i'd pop over to one, if plenty of noticew was given, and you had some sausage rolls on the go! :D

  6. I agree Merc... it was Louise and her brother who took it over, after Brian Young died a while ago.

I had not heared anything about a female death? It wasn't Marge was it?

It is true that Louise's Husband died not too long ago. Sad times for the family, you can understand why she would be finding it too much now.

Anyone got a copy of the News Post Leader from a week or two ago to confirm its up for sale?

  7. Just to put another twist on it all...

    Terrorism.. whats its definition?

in my words, terrorism is designed to cause disruption, cripple public services, Bully higher authorities into changing their minds about something....

..of course theres the needless killing as well, but 3 out of 4 discriptors isnt bad to make a distinction!

    Sound familier?

Has my above post been moved for some reason?

I was sure i posted it in reply to this post:

I think they should think them selfs lucky they have a job??

This whole BA striks is doin my head in. Unite are goin to ruin that company and send it under. BA Cabin crew and most groung crew are already the highest paid in the industry?? If your contract changes then you should just deal with it or hand your notice in??

I think the government need to step in and put something in place to stop this sort of thing happening?? not sure what tho??

refering to the strike action by BA and the proposed future strikes elswhere.....:huh:

  8. Welcome to Monsta's world of wind ups....:rolleyes:

Anything to get a reaction, even if its not his view! :D :D

As for the PC problems, as i said, posting in the computer help section would get you a few ideas, just like installing a good antivirus, and anti-malware applications, disabling "AutoRuns", using a "Scan Removable Media On Insertion" rules, and running the public accessed accounts in limited mode, as well as others to do with networking protection.

Advice on just which ones to install, will be another argument entirely, as myself and others prefer free applications that do just as good a job, whilst Monsta and others prefer "Paid For" programs, with which you get some extras you actually might be interested in. (And may actually need, since its not for "home use" you might not be eligible for free versions.)

  9. If i had the money spare to buy it outright, yes, i'd have a crack at it!

As for "up for sale" i believe the asking price is to buy the current landlady out, and pay for fixtures, fittings and stock. it will still be under punch (i also believe thats who runs it)

Since i dont, and theres no way i'd deal with punch (i had dealing with them at The Dun Cow) then its totally out of my price range.

Apparently "family curcumstances" is the reason???
