  1. not tried any of those two yet, but i was gonna try COD4...

i'm more of a command and conquer kinda guy.

me and my kids and nephews often have multiplayer battles on it, its great fun! ;)

call of duty 4 is great ... crysis requires a very good machine to play on high graphics. But is a really great game, not as well played online at the min everyones playing COD4, very realistic... Im waiting for op flashpint 2 rise of the dragon to come out , as the first one was hardcore! .. Not very good at strat games.. Tried WoW but couldnt get into that at all, just walking about whacking pigs or delivering stuff, theres a guy whos mad on it at work its all he goes on about , but i didnt like it?

  2. What does everyone do on Bank holiday Monday in Bedlington, do you go out for the day, stay in front of the t.v, visit the local watering holes ?

We went to Bedlington Cricket club for a friendly match between three invited teams, Northumberland Arms, Bedlington Market Place Club and the Monkey.

A good day had by all, a few drinks, a picnic if you wanted or buy a hot dog/burger.

The Monkey won again. (second year in a row)

    Sounds good.

  3. That Canada air isn`t doing much for your brain i see Dave

So, what`s it like there...is it an improvement from the uk?

well its got its plus points and minuses. The food is ok if you like chicken wings or steaks/burgers but theres no fish and chip places out here, well there are but the fish is rancid . weathers good, in the summer, but winters cold, ... altogether its pretty good, less knife crime , more pick up trucks, bigger roads, more country music! ha

  4. In a word microgrants!

Not huge sums splurged on yet more useless "urban engineering" [see: http://www.bedlington.co.uk/community/index.php?showtopic=1514] but relatively small sums given out to local businesses people to improve local services.

No form filing or delay, but grants made and agreed on the ground by trustworthy (non-party) local officials who themselves ensure that the money is spent on what was agreed.

This works in Baghdad and it can work here!

i'll believe it when i see it. Its seems to be a bit of a sticky problem of how to get rid of the money, without looking like someones getting their gaff done up for gratis. I suggest the rear of the front sreet needs more work than the back. Or maybe a new play park for the likes of monsta to vandalise and hang out in for a few months .. maybe he could meet a girlfriend

  5. The mind is a strange place… sometimes you can’t even remember last night’s Eastenders yet other times you really might think that you can just about get a grip on Space-Time…

Of late, my mind has been on other things… a news story that I vaguely remember from some time that was perhaps the 1990s. And maybe in the Evening Chronicle, Journal or Sunday Sun. It related to a (possible) military plane crash off the coast of Northumberland, where one of the first people on the scene was the Hollywood actor Dan Aykroyd… Dan (as I don’t think he would mind me calling him) was in Northumberland as he said he visited frequently as it was one of his favourite places in the world as he discovered after filming here once…

I have tried hours of googling to no avail (though it most probably happened before the papers kept online records), yet a number of local folk I have spoken to seem to think they remember it too… some of the obstacles I have met however are that I can’t seem to find records of a plane crash and that IMBD doesn’t show any of wor Dan’s films as shot in Northumberland!

I now fear that it could all be a dream, but thought someone on here could help me… no Ghostbusters jokes, please

    :)

Think he saved the day in "spys like us"

  6. Was at ASDA today and the customer in front of me was using her Tesco 'Spend £30 get £10 off" vouchers on her shopping. When I asked about it, apparently whatever offers or deals Tesco have on, Asda will match it.

So anyone who got those vouchers through their door, you can spend them at Asda if you want.

Great .. you can get money off rotten meat or child abuse survivors books.. have you noticed the predominance of those books in that shop? Thats disturbing. It wouldnt be there if people werent buying it , check it out next time your in.

  7. The new Tescos pulled in over a quarter million quid in 1 WEEK ... so despite not knowing what Ms Vics Plant was called it did alright.. You've gotta get your things somewhere..so instead of causing arguements just get your things and **** off home

  8. Makes you wonder why they move to this country if they dont like our ways... maybe because we've spent billions doing this place up over the years and they like the look of it. You wont see many people going the other way. We're lucky in this country and they know it. Jealously is a terrible thing.. the're stuck with a rubbish religon living in a dusty horrible hole with no facilties and they like to have a pop at us using Islam and its prophet to try and show the west in a bad light.
