So todays reports are of DNA sample found in car were Maddies,but they are not an exact match,cos they are now saying that the dad is not the dad,well if this sample is not a match it could have come from her mum.Right or wrong? I mean who argues with DNA if its found you are guilty. So police can get a sample from a suspect take it to wherever they want dab it on a wall,floor,car boot and hey presto they got a conviction,you are as guilty as sin!

No arguments your DNA was found at the scene.Scary!

Looking at the proposals for the new soopa coouncil for Northumberland anyone else get a tingling down the back of your neck. Selling off local assets, moving services 250 miles away, 100's if not 1000's of redundencies, decimating local representation and the list goes on. Now I am all for change but the changes I would like to see should be made to empower local people not take it away!

Never thought I would say this but I might even start to support WDC remaining!

One question remains unanswered, and I have asked it time and time again, just who the hell is making these decisions? If it is the CEO of NCC then he could be sacked, the elected officers have a mandate off the people seeing as 55% of "us" voted against a single authority for the county.

As yet there are only very sketchy details about how communities like Bedlington will operate once these changes go ahead, my view is that if all is going to be as good as we are led to believe then everyone would have been told just how they would benifit, someone would be after brownie points!

At the moment this stinks, someone somewhere is laying down this blueprint without any public consultation (see comments by councillors in this weeks Leader) and in this day and age that should be verboten, punishable by public flogging!

I agree, i believe dogs should be able to relieve themselves just like any other animal. Fair enough, humans are educated enough to use a toilet, but dogs are not.

Was it an opencast or was it a mine with shafts? Do you know what it was called?

I was not worried with the Opencast until I googled and found Bedlington was the home of Europes biggest Opencast.

I dont fancy living in a Bungalow in a few years time.

When I was pilfering coal from there it was open cast,but you could see old mine workings there,roadways etc.also old artifacts were lying about don't know what happened to these,in hindsight I should have collected them instead of the coal and put them on That online auction site that is in no way as good as Free Bedlington.co.uk Classifieds.

People were saying at the time it was the working's of the monks,don't know if this is true!

If you're caught with an illegal firearm you might get sent down for 5 years, then out in 2 or 3; probably worth the risk in having the gun. What about a mandatory 20 years, with no parole - that might put a stop (or at least seriously reduce) the 'casual' carrying of guns? Obviously, a few well-publicised test cases might get the message out to these gangs not to carry guns - or else! If a gun is discharged - add 5 to the above. If somebody is injured - add another 5. Kill somebody - you never get out.

The point needs to be made that if you have an illegal firearm then expect a spectacular prison term.

i remember being in middle school when the first batters went up next to meadowdale.

they dug a good hole there too, i wouldnt like to say how deep, but it was at least a few hundred meters, i remember scaling the fence when i was about 14 and going down on our mountain bikes. it was scary as hell! all was filled in level tho, and they are supposed to compress it every few meters, so i would say the land there should be the safest around to build on.... if they compressed the sub-foundations right when it was backfilled....

The land is supposed to stand for 20yrs before building on it,don't quite think it stood that long,maybe 6 months is W.D.C's equivalant of 20yrs :lol:

Your right Merlin they do not live in the same world as us. Have you head there latest idea, its a rehash of what they did before, they are going to have amnesty centers for people to hand in their guns and weapons (down memory lane seems to come to mind).

Do they really think people that commit these crimes are going to walk into the Police station and hand over their weapons, there sitting at home laughing at them because they haven't got a clue.

This again boils down to 'Human Rights' these usually only apply to the criminal class.

I was listening to the government on the news this morning they said they will do every thing they can to stop gun crime providing it is within the law. If the law does not work then they should change it so that it does work, how long would it take them to make a decision if it was a wage rise for them.
