  2. The Terriers need your help. Crowds are at an all time low and we need the old faces back and the new generation of supported to come through. Our current league position is false. We have an exciting team of hard working lads and a very passionate and dedicated management team in Dave and Keith. There's been a lot in the media lately regarding the troubles faced by Chester and Hartlepool. Like many teams at our level, the Terriers rely on volunteers. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. - volunteering, helping promote the team, sponsorship etc etc. Cost-effective advertising packages available for local businesses including our ever expanding social media presence. Doesn't have to cost the Earth - deals to be done! Join our supporters page on Facebook and see videos of matches inc Saturday's excellent 6-1 home win. I'm actually an exiled Scarborough supporter. We went bust in 2007, don't let the Terriers be in any risk of going the same way,

  4. My family as well, Vic - every generation before me, that is. I understand that the explanation I gave may have beeen a bit difficult to understand, but it's nothing to do with you being from Blyth. It's just that we have different areas of interest and expertise. If it's any comfort, I have the same problem with mining related explanations - but please keep them coming because even if I don't understand everything I'm always a bit wiser after reading them. Knowledge shared is a wonderful thing and there's a wealth of knowledge, covering a diversity of subjects on this site: History, mining, computers, politics, Bedlington, and, dare I say it, language. Long may we keep sharing.

  5. Two f's in Rediffusion! Which was the trading name of Broadcast Relay Service Ltd. Last full owner was The British Electric Traction Company plc - them wot formerly operated the trams in many cities - demise of the whole thing around 1988 I think.

  7. No positive proof Ovaleeny - I posted your full comment on the Bedlington Cricket Club site :- https://www.facebook.com/bedlingtoncricketclub/?fref=nf and one response from - Mal Jovi Hemsted - was :- My dad says this is the lowest he’s heard of Mal's dad is Susan Hemsted's cousin Billy who is about our age and been involved with BCC all his life. Billy's dad Billy, along with many more of the Hemsted family, as you know have been involved with the club for donkeys years.

  8. To follow on from my previous post, a few home matches coming up. Nice bar, food kiosk an.d the legend that is "The Foal" Been far too long since a consistent 100+ crowd. Surely 100 isn't much to ask from a population of ~ 15000 in the town?
