  2. People that treat animals in that way are no more than animals themselves, they want tying up and treating the same way they trated their own animals. Disgusting

  5. You never know Cympil dreams sometimes do come true. He seems to be a genuine guy and has acording to news reports paid £30,000 for an electronic score board which could produce revenue through advertising. Good luck to the Terriers it could be the begining of something good for them.
  6. The way the weathers going I wil be going back into hibernation, its been cold and raining all day. No tracks in the snow, is this the end of the beast?
  7. Merlin, seen as we are going back in time a bit with Neal Armstrong and the moon landing can you update me with a more recent happening? The Bedlington Beast, has there been anymore sightings?
  8. There was a Routledge family lived in the pit rows near the Old Pit 50s 60s
  9. Not sure who came after George Swan Keith as I would have left Bedlington by then.
  10. The co op was two shops on the opposite corner from George Swans. When the Oval was first built the original shops that I remember were George Swans, the chemist the Co op, Dobsons, simular shop to George Swans, Wakes the buthers and the chiropotist, this would have been mid fifties when the corn field was a field. George Swans nephew worked for him in the shop he later became a local police officer in Bedlington (Red Lion)
  11. The original shops at the oval as far as I remember were George Swan's then the chemist (4D per lb for the rose hips), the barbers, a Haberdashery shop and the Co op, on the next corner was Dobsons followed by Christine Henderson the Chiropodist Wakes the butcher (nice pies) Mr Beadnells Paper shop and another drapers, there could have been more but I can not remember. I do remember the Oval being built. I remember one of those shops changing hands and it becam a record shop.
  12. Ah well Happy Birthday to all, hope you have a good day.
  13. Merlin, I know what you are going through; we usually have this problem, in the summer, normally with people who have a prepayment electric meter. Once the prepayment card has run out and the electric cuts off the alarm kicks in and if the occupants have gone away on holiday you have to put up with the dammed noise till they return. The noise is Bliddy annoying; its time the council and polis got there heads together and got this problem sorted
  14. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year
  15. I will be up next year on holiday Malcolm

  20. I think he is a man with a grudge against the Toon, well he is a Spurs fan at the end of the day. What next for the Toon? I fell sorry for Chris Hughton as he did a fantastic job.
  21. Good news Merlin hope everything goes well for you and just before Christmas superb.
  22. Yes Malcolm my research has revealed the same results, but I now have gas. They phoned last night about 12 15am and told us they where on their way, they arrived and fixed problem in five minuets, finally got to bed at one o'clock feeling warmer, well I think it was warmer I had forgotten what heat felt like.
  23. Congratulations Monsta it was a good points total.
  24. Talking about the cold weather does anyone know how long you have to be without gas or electric before you can claim compo from the supplier. Our gas meter developed a fault on Saturday and we contacted the supplier on their emergency number, its now Monday and no one been to carry out a repair. (Gas supplier, Eon) I have contacted them three times in the last two days and they tell me they will send someone out but nobody comes, so it must be Mr Nobody they keep sending out.
