  1. Haha - Roger never was very good at keeping in touch. I keep saying to my husband "I wonder what Roger is doing now?" He keeps saying "don't worry, Roger will turn up out of the blue one day". It's been a good few years now though. So sorry to hear about Michael and Gavin.
  2. Yes, that is Ian with Christina, and would be summer of 84. The other photo, with Dr. Brown, Andy, Ian and Christina, I am pretty sure would have been around Christmas 84. I wonder if you were on holiday at the time Ian. We certainly met you long before you were 5 1/2.
  3. Our lockdown seems much stricter than in the UK, and apart from the first couple of weeks, most people in our town are mostly sticking to the rules. As far as I am aware we don't know any of the people involved, and I am sure our Italian friend would have told us if we did. Although our Mayor is now giving daily bulletins he isn't naming any names - quite rightly I think, we have to respect the families involved.
  4. In our town, similar in size to Bedlington, since the beginning of the crisis we have 8 confirmed cases, 2 of whom have died, and 11 in isolation, presumeably because they have been in contact with the 8 confirmed cases.
  5. 3G and myself are doing fine here in Italy. We are in the South, and are fairing far better than the poor people in Lombardy. That's not to say that it's good, we do still have many cases here, but compared to the north we are getting off very lightly. We don't go out very much at all, but do have a very large garden we can get out into. 3G hasn't been out at all since 20th March, when he decided the daily bike ride wasn't worth the €3000 euro fine if caught. The lockdown is very, very strict here. We have to carry a form with us when we (I) go out, stating exactly where we have come from, where we are going, and why. Only one person from the household can go shopping, and at our local Lidl only 10 people in the shop at any one time. I go out to do the shopping no more than once a week if I can help it. That's it then, that is how things are for us here in Italy.
  6. He never mentioned Bedlington at all - Ashington, Blyth, Cramlington.
  7. Isn't Ashianas a bit further down the block, more to the right of the entrance to Foggans Yard. I think the TSB is on the corner where the fish shop was.
  8. Well I'm not in the UK.
  9. I'm not having any problems.
  10. I didn't think it was.
  11. And now the children's wooden summer house has been burnt down at the Whitley memorial first school. How disgusting is that. The ones responsible need catching and stringing up. Why target small children like that? I really have no more words. Sadly it makes me a bit glad I am "ex Bedlingtonian" and I never thought I would say that.
  12. So what age were they to be out at 3 a.m.!
  13. Hope she manages to raise the money, and gets better.
  14. Good luck Malcolm! You know if we were there we would be voting for you!
  15. It does appear that that area is not included in the scheme.
  16. Is there any Class not covered there?
  17. As far as I know it cannot be back dated.
  18. Interesting vote so far - where are all the Remain supporters?
  19. I think you are both right. I seem to remember NVR was originally in the shop further up, but I think they possibly did move into the old Rediffusion shop after Granada left.
  20. Well I moved to Bedlington in 1976, and the shutters were definitely already there then.
