I very vaguely remember a week many years ago, where various events were held, with some interesting things going on for kids in the library. Could this be anything to do with it?

Would be nice wouldn't it.

I'm not in the UK any more, and they don't do it here. Here there are the guys who take your trolley to the car, load your shopping into the car and return the trolley to the trolley bay. I do give them any odd change I have in my purse.ex bed.."you said you used to"..whats the story there ?..you dont any more ?

I used to say "here's a donation, but I'd rather pack my own bags thank you". They get their donation and I get my bags packed the way I like them.you know what else gets my goat....organisations and schools wanting to help you pack your shopping bags..they are usless at packing usually and you end up having to buy another bag.

I am pretty sure there was a house called "Demesne House" near the community centre. The only references to any Halls in Bedlington what i can find are `A demesne house, or hall, of the Bishop of Durham is recorded in Bedlington, probably somewhere near the church.` (Church of St Cuthbert)

So do I. Shame about the weather.I love our region/county.
For the history the beauty and the folklore. I love it.

Could have been there myself. I went to many, many concerts at the City Hall in the 60's, and The Hollies and Roy Orbison are two acts I would have wanted to see.

How about some pics for us exiles?

Happy Birthday from all of us too.

It would be nice to think that all those who listened and enjoyed what they heard put their hands in their pockets to raise at least a little bit of it.

Never knew it was called Spring Park, thank you.

Apparently the Olympic Torch is going to be carried down Front Street to Spring Park. I didn't think it was that long since I left Bedlington, but I don't remember any Spring Park. Where is it?
You can find the route at http://news.bbc.co.u...k_newcastle.pdf

You could ask Mary at the Northumberland Arms. She has an upstairs room which has been used in the past by various clubs.

It used to many years ago, but I don't think it has now.

Always knew Bedlington was classed as a suburb of Ashington!

Can't give you any first hand experience but I have been connected with Bedlington for over 35 years and it has always had a good reputation.

Congratulations. I bet Rachel is glad to be home. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Just coming out of a pub lunch driving home from Bristol. Heard it on the radio and though "some air traffic controller is in trouble", then I heard about the second one.
