Here's a novel thought.........why not start electing people because of their qualities/acumen/intelligence and character. Not because they wear the right coloured tie,
So now we're talking colours I'll put it in Black and White.....we need to get rid of the Labour controlled administration at County Hall, these people have stood back and watched Bedlington decline while they've channelled all available investment into a neighbouring town. Morpeth will be next to feel the brunt after they move County HQ to the same town...I said at last weeks Town Council meeting and will say it again both NCC and the MP have abandoned Bedlington.

There are hints, winks and nudges coming from the Labour administration at County Hall that we need to
"watch this space there could be something coming"
Hopefully there is and its not just electioneering on behalf of the Ashington Constituency.

Ashington MP Ian Lavery is saying that Tesco is prepared to let Bedlington "wither on the vine" is this not what he himself has done for the last four years?
-
Let's be brutally honest, we have had no help from the council and even less from Lavery our MP.
Maybe "Arch" the "development arm" of NCC will step in and give us all a surprise. Watch that space.

He lived in a big house on Hartford Road opposite the entrance into South Riggs ... according to Google Street View it no longer exists ... I remember it had a big underground air raid sdesirablehelter in the garden.
It's still there Symp my cousin bought it, spent a fortune on it, and made it desirable, she still lives in it!!!

. Mr Lavery, that's you.
Just Bounces off him Neil, he's not interested in Bedlington but he'll be getting the Sat Nav out soon and popping over for our vote.

Threegee, you may have missed this one but I've been told the guy immediate left of Bevan (right on the pic) is Willy Hall the Bedlington Scout Master. The photo came from his Daughter along with other postcards so...................?

The owner was at the last Council Meeting giving an update on the lack of progress at the site. He assured the members of the public at the meeting (single figures, so not a lot of interest there then) that the Care Home would be open in July. Although he didn't say what year it would be it was assumed he meant 2015

Westlea houses match the ones in the photo, another member on here sent some pics yesterday I'll see if said member will upload them.
-
Have anyone noticed the Lady standing at the front door in the background?
-
I also Think this could be West Lea. Paul Mann would know.
Where's Maggs when we need her

Those silos in the pic were not Alcans pilgrim, they were the Grain Plants

Can anyone name the occasion or the place of the attached pic, it was included with some old postcards of Bedlington that I bought from a dealer. It looks like the Waverley Avenue area to me but maybe Keith Lockey will be able to identify/confirm? Symp if you are one of the characters in the picture I'll send you a framed copy postpaid without Watermark Looks a bit like Councillors out on a Freebee to me any ideas?

I'm going to erect a tent, and live there.
Have you given any advance notice that your vacating Table 25?

Christopher,
the friendly moderators on this site have an opinion as well as the friendly members on this site. You've had four people giving advice and each one gets a negative from you, What is it your looking for?
-
Its hardly Rocket Science.........Its now becoming........... boring

Anyone?
Are we talking Bedlington council offices?
Ashington?
Morpeth county hall?
I would have tried Land Registry, when I bought the freehold for my property they sent me a plan of my Gardens and boundaries, it just about shows where every spuggie sh***s.

Fabulous information Pilgrim, thanks! And Foxy, you're in this one too, on your bike!

Malcolm surely our parish council has a say? And can voice opinions of residents?
Toffo, have you ever considered going to the Council Meeting and voicing your own opinions? There are only nine regular residents who attend these meetings, it would certainly help if we could have more support from the people in the Town.

Dear Maggie915
thank you for your letter informing us of an opportunity to invest in your Town, however after contacting your County Council regarding this matter they have stated categorically that any investment whatsoever in the Wansbeck constituency must go into..... Ashington. We hope this clears up the matter and just like your representatives at County HQ and Westminster, we don't want to hear from you again!
