  5. i can remember rhodas chip shop at guidepost also teeny rice at scotland gate also simms as well we called it simms after the name of a girl that used to work there , happy days then,
  6. you can put the ham stock in hot or cold mix it in with the peas then put it in the oven. hope you enjoy it .

  8. it is a shame to here that the 3 pubs at the station are untidy on the outside they were allways tidy when i lived there

  12. no you dont need to boil the peas , just put every thing into the dish then into the cooker .
  13. 1 poundyellow split peas 2 large onions enough ham stock to cover peas put allin a large dish whith lid on put it in the ovenand let it cook for 2 to 3 hours untill it has all dissolved stir often after first hour do not let it go dry salt and pepper if needed hope you enjoy it happy eating
  14. my mrs makes the best peas puding i have ever tasted we both eat it with ham in beteen a sandwich , cant wait till the next lot is made.

  16. i am ashamed to read what has happend to the station and shame on the people that have got it in this state.

  18. i lived at the station from 1952 till 1970 i have got to say then it was clean and tidy and i enjoyed every moment of it.
  19. i lived at the station and drank in the percy arms during the 1950s and 60s and i still dont know why it was called the high house does any one know?.
