  1. A man goes to his GP, The GP asks what can I help you with?

The patient said "Doctor, I think I have a problem with my ears."

The doctor checks his ears and says, "Your eardrums are very damaged, They may never heal!"

Then the doctor asked the patient, "What do you do as a career? As it maybe work related."

The patient says, "I have been retired, for 20 years now."

The doctor then asks, "Are you married?"

The patient says "Yes, how did you know?"

The doctor relied, "The cause of your Deafness is, you have been nagged to deaf!"

  2. Which was......."You'll see a lot of activity after Xmas And we should be up and running at the beginning of July"...  And if that happens then Foxy's a*se is in Fenwicks window again. :|

A but he did not say what Xmas and what July did he Foxy?

  3. I thought some of us had been to a political hustings in Bedlington Adam?

Yes Malcolm I have been and when I went the candidate said, "Bedlington started going down hill when the pits shut." No it did not Bedlington went down hill when WDC (Wansbeck District Council) came into play, and hived all the money to Ashington.

  4. You failed to mention the Ashington MP who needs to be Replaced with Anyone from Any political party that is prepared to Fairly  represent the town on a Level playing field.

    Which Is Foxy?

I have not heard a word from any political party about Bedlington, That is the whole lot.

We have not even heard who is going to be running for some parties.

Only Ukip, Labour and Tories have confirmed there candidates, but not one has spoken up for Bedlington publicly.

Bar Lavery who says "I knew nothing about the Bedlington Tesco's closing." and he only got involved because it was close to a election, when it was a forgone conclusion they were not prepared to Invest in Bedlington.

  5. WHERE'S THE MONEY HONEY?

The answer Malcolm, The golf course money some was given for the reopening of Bedlington Community Centre, the rest was spend elsewhere then Bedlington, The £1 Million from Tescos was put into the county councils central pot and most likely.

    1) Given the Arch.

    2) Spent on Ashington.

    3) Both!

  6. After all it is the "Regeneration Company for Northumberland” and last I looked Bedlington was part of Northumberland! The whole Tesco site should be compulsory purchased for a pound and developed sensibly with reference to its position in a conservation area as well as overriding commercial considerations.

Finally, someone who agrees with me That the whole Tesco's area should be Compulsory purchased

  7. foxy they all need to change and help Bedlington.

They need to see it is in their interests.

The past problems need to be buried and a new approach developed where everyone has the same goal.

The 'root cause' could be developed into the 'root solution'.

Either way the next generation will change things.

Our children and grandchildren will see a different attitude develop.

No one can see what has happened in Bedlington as fair.

Maggie I think this answers your question for NCC and our (Sorry) Ashington's MP with regards to Bedlington.

In the case of Bedlington, Actions speak louder then words!

  8. The rents on the Front Street are exorbitant to the extreme. Local people are to blame for this! Well one not so local as he is with his boyfriend on the Isle of Man. Anyway we moved from a small shop on the Front Street to a one four times the size further up the street for a third of the rent of the small one. The larger premises are owned by someone in London.

Well just look at these Merlin, talk about eye watering!

  9. I knew it close, Tesco's had no interest in Bedlington.

I am very sorry for the staff after years of service and months of uncertainty they have lost there jobs, I can imagine some will be transferred to other branches but sadly there will be job losses.

Wonder if the next thing will be "Tesco's Row" up for sale?

  10. The owner was at the last Council Meeting giving an update on the lack of progress at the site. He assured the members of the public at the meeting  (single figures, so not a lot of interest there then) that the Care Home would be open in July.  Although he didn't say what year it would be it was assumed he meant 2015

Remember Foxy he also said the scaffold would be down by Christmas.

  11. Can anyone name the occasion or the place of the attached pic, it was included with some old postcards of Bedlington that I bought from a dealer. It looks like the Waverley Avenue area to me but maybe Keith Lockey will be able to identify/confirm?  Symp if you are one of the characters in the picture I'll send you a framed copy postpaid without  Watermark   Looks a bit like Councillors out on a Freebee to me any ideas?

I am sure i have seen this image before can't remember where, I think it is Westlea or the Hartlands, and the people in the photos are Councillors of Bedlingtonshire Urban District Council with a cabinet minister.

  12. The brochure on the Full Draft Plan for Northumberland is interesting.

Before 2031 South East Northumberland which is the narrow band from Amble down to the Tyne is to be 'Delivered' of 12,540 new houses.

The rest of Northumberland is to be 'Delivered' of

    11,000.

On the basis of this planning it seams South East Northumberland will have no protected

    'Green Belt'

The brochures will be available today at Choppington Social Welfare Centre 1pm till 4pm

Newbiggin Leisure Centre tomorrow 10am till 2pm.

Huge significance for us all and our narrow South East Northumberland Area.

Will we end up like the ghost areas of Southern Ireland where new houses just did not sell.

I hope this does not happen and the planned growth and the forecasts are true and accurate.

No one wants to halt progress.

Headlines in the News Post Leader this week suggest 800 people have signed a petition against 480 new houses.

This is just the start, if we are not considered to have any protected 'Green Belt'.

Please, if you can, get a brochure this is the future for all of us.

All the protected green belt Maggie will be round Morpeth, wonder why that is?

  13. yup, i did the same for mine, however the land in question has no address.

I think you can get copies of boundary plans online for a few quid, but you need the full address to get the information.

    Thanks again Malcolm

Chris, There is a section on the land registry site that is a map enquiry.

All you do is click on the map where you want to search, then the map will come up, find the place you want to find info about, zoom right in, then the Find properties option will be able to be selected, click on, then click the place on the map where you want to find the info about and you should be fine.
