It looks better now then it did a year ago.
Was not a fan of the dark brown shop front.

I would say if I was asked what are the first things that come to mind when someone says Bedlington I would say Terrier and Station.
I also think most people would think that if they knew very little to nothing about the town.

I heard a rumour that Toby Carvery had been advertising for jobs in Bedlington with the further rumour being that the Ridge Farm was reopening.
Can anyone throw any light on this?
I heard the same rumour Chris that jobs had been advertised in the job centre with the Ridge Farm Reopening.
Not sure about that one Chris. I heard the state of the building leaves a whole lot to be desired now. It will end up being cheaper to tear down and build new than refurb the existing building.
Also Malcolm here are some of the problems that i found when it was still going but before I stopped going in about 2010/11 and in recent times:
The Felt roof at the front of the building was leaking in heavy rain due to no place for it to run off to and never was repaired to my knowledge.
The garage on the side went on fire after an electric fault (junction box burst into flames) I heard, but was repaired so sounds like it needs a whole new electrical system,
The Toilets could do with a refurbishment as they are not the best.
The doors on and in the building need replacing also as they used to let in one hell of a draught.
The carpets need replacing as they have worn out in places.

Those pics were on the North Norfolk Railway at Weybourne Adam
It is a nice loco Keith and was restored locally (Hepscott) and is owned by Ian Storey.

Welcome to the Site Bayardm.
The shop front that the florists is now in was never done under the THI, also the heritage paintwork i am not sure about it.The earliest I have seen of a photo of the shop is when it was W. Wards photo shop and it was white in the photo, then blue, then in recent years it was brown.

Tipping a load of coal at the North Norfolk Railway and came across this fella. ...... Couldn't attach photo for some reason. It's the George Stephenson steam loco , working perfectly well I'm Norfolk .. Number. 44767 for anyone who is interested. Will sort the pics out at the weekend when I'm home
It is not only a Heritage Line steam engine, it also runs on the mainline from time to time.

It's not voting online Adam. Just registering to vote which in turn updates the electoral register.
Sorry Brett did not mean voting online, I was not clear on the post i made.
What I meant to say was If you don't register online, do you still get the letter via the post asking to register to vote?

A sad moment was announced today (14th June) that Sam Kelly has Died after a long illness. I am a fan of Sam Kelly's performance's in all the films and TV Series he was in, he was one of the best and he will be sadly missed, he will never be replaced, Rest In Peace Sam Kelly.

I can't understand it, will you still get a letter though if you ave not registered to vote online?

Yeah, it's a shame that people can't just respect the work that has gone in.
We tend to automatically assume that this would be the young'uns but there is quite a bit of traffic from The Red Lion to the Market Place too.
Same happened with the planters at station. Most of the flowers ended up on the pavement.
The same thing happens every time the planters are planted next to wetherspoons, the plants are pulled out and chucked on the pavement.

5 sacks Malcolm there was the Sunday I went and clear a bit away as well.

Several members of my family on both my mum and dads side served in both world wars.
I am unsure of which units/battles they thought in, but I am interested to find out.
I know my great grandfather served as a ambulance driver in the Somme during the 1st world war, He never spoke about the war to my grandfather or my mum, same with my great uncle who served in the Royal Navy, He never spoke about the war either.
I can only imagine the horrors they witnessed, disfigurement, dismemberment, severe burns on the body, the list is endless.
I am proud to said my family did their bit to keep this country safe and free.

Well said, Adam!
When I left the pits, and re-trained in furniture-making,I made very good friends wherever I worked.
One lad,[lives in Germany, now, born at Middleton,in Wooler],still tries to wind me up,after nearly 25 years of friendship,by calling the miners "cowards"and says we only went down the mines to escape fighting Hitler,in the armed forces.!
His Father was in the R.A.F.,AFTER the war......and,while I have the utmost respect and appreciation, for ALL our forces,I always reply to him that ,if it hadn't been for coalminers,[women and very young children, included],the Industrial Revolution wouldn't have happened, and his father wouldn't have been in the AIR force,he would still have probably been going to sea in wooden sailing ships with bows and arrows!!
Not a fair comment really, but only said in good-natured banter, with a slight ring of truth!!
Now,Miners are Miners, the world over, with Wives, and families, and my heart goes out, still, today, when I hear about Russian,Chinese,or wherever, miners being killed or injured in big explosions,as has happened a few days ago, with news coverage which was secondary to Rolf Harris,or One Direction smoking a joint,in a private car, minding his own business......
By comparison,I don't think a boy band smoking a joint is anywhere near as serious as 500 miners being killed underground....the Media reporting in this country should be well-shaken up,as it was supposed to have been after the "News of the World" scandal......but it hasn't been!
Rant over.........sorry,but Vic and Adam set me away, like a red rag to a bull!!!!!!
We all love your rants Bill But I still believe there should be a memorial to miners who died down Bedlingtonshire pits, but i can't get anyone to help me with it so I have had to drop the idea.

Nice to see some parish councils are non-political.

One statement I can never get over is "those from low-income backgrounds"
How is that line drawn?
Is it if your parents have less then £10,000 a year income?
I read an interesting thing about this very subject:
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/simon-cowell-baby-not-inherit-2252368
Simon Cowell will not give his son a penny and he is a multi millionaire.
It does not matter how poor or rich your parents are, it does not say they will give their children money to get a bus or further your education.
And with youth Unemployment up so high how are the children meant to get the money?

Looks like people in general are sick of politics a 34.19% turnout and only 4 parties got an increase in votes more then last year that is:
UKIP up 10.99%
Labour up 9.67%
Scottish National Party up 0.34%
and Socialist Party of Great Britain up 0.02%
Everyone else has fallen or stayed at 0%

Funniest video ever:

Both left and right three G.
Mainly the extreme left and right (BNP, Socialist Labour Party, etc. also the "eco friendly" groups Greenpeace, Green Party, etc.) They will never support it so as I said not all political parties/groups will support it.
-
There are some people and parties in the political movement that would love to see every single coal mine close never to open again and would not give there support to miners buying and running the mine.
