  1. I don't think that's the same woman with the shoulder camera, threegee. Height and hair is all wrong, regardless of the dates. The one in the photo that I queried doesn't even look officious, she looks as if she is with the old bloke to her left.
  2. Sorry about my last posting I put the wrong photo on - BUT - did you know you caught a UFO in this picture, Foxy? Look at the shining object above The Howard & Johnson's shoe shop.
  3. No, not a quiz, Foxy, a general bit of puzzlement on my part. Unless she is filming the big-wigs leading the parade. But if I'm not mistaken my cousin is walking behind them.
  4. I think Foxy put this one on site but what is on this woman's shoulder? (Red circle - bottom photo) A video recorder? But it's just resting there, she isn't holding it, unless she has an extension. It just looks strange.
  5. I've never seen Matty for yonks.

  7. Awesome version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5euBFC8dvU
  8. Trade Description Act, Merc', take it to the top man - G. He created the Universe and Earth and the Moon, it says so in Genesis. "And the Lord made the moon out of Gorgonzola and it was harvested by Klangers." Mind you it may be camouflage! Those Reptoids who have a base on the dark side might have initiated some kind of cloaking device so that instead of looking at craters of camembert or mare of mozzarella you are actually seeing moondust which is totally uninviting. (That's why we stopped going there - the cheese consortium wouldn't finance the apollo missions.) But don't be put off, go see a priest and ask him what the big G has done with the moon - after all, he is the big cheese up there.
  9. Well it looks like Comet Ison has turned out to be a damp squib. It has apparently burnt up after Perihelion. Guess I'll put my binoculars back in the case.
  10. When I had the old system i never had any problem with pressure. I would often have to bleed one particular radiator but it never interrupted the central heating system. This one shut down after I bled the bathroom radiator. Surely that shouldn't happen!!
  11. I've actually got the operating manual somewhere but I couldn't find it. It was rather funny because he was talking me through the procedure on the phone and I was reminded of a WWII bomb disposal operative when he told me which of the five valves to turn. But it's sorted now. (Hopefully!)
  12. Isn't that the cast from Les Miserable!
  13. What's that you say, sonny, me an old man!!!
  14. I'd just like to take time out to thank two people at Bernicia Housing for helping me with a problem today. I bled my bathroom radiator this morning and inadvertently dropped the water pressure down in my Potterton combi - thus I had no central heating or hot water. I phoned the problem in and within two hours someone was on the phone talking me through putting the pressure back. So thank you Meggie and Billy; if it wasn't for your kindness I could have been sitting round a candle tonight with a hot water bottle clutched to my freezing frame. I liked the way they handled the situation and really appreciate it.
  15. I've just wrote a book about some dodgy extra-terrestrial con men. I think I'll call it Fifty shady grays.
  16. I mostly remember Matty Hall and Mister Butler. Now Matty was one of the teachers in the top annexe building but who was the other? Was It Butler. One other thing that stands out - or rather one person I recall. He was called Colin Cooper I believe, and he was a bit of a child genius. His parents lived down Hirst Villas opposite Clouson's Shop. Well this Colin Cooper actually gave a talk on building a go-Kart or something. He stood in front of the teachers and the class and explained the ins and outs of the go-kart's mechanisms. We were all gobsmacked.
  17. Hi Adam. my sincerest apologies regarding misinformation. Somewhere along the lines I had heard you father had died. Once again my most profound apology. The Creeful of Coals is sold in a few newsagents in Bedlington. I contributed to one of them many years ago and found it a great way of keeping in contact with the past. Thank you for putting me right and if I am to be chastized I suggest sending me to the Red Light District of Amsterdam as a penance...no, I insist, the blame was mine and I feel that some sort of redemption is needed. (Seriously sorry, Keith.)
  18. HPW - with regards to Alf and Peggy Brown at Hollymount Square I would hazard a guess at the early 1970s when they moved there because they used to live in the Prefabs before that. They lived in the fourth house in from the Front Street if I remember.
  19. Having some trouble with something here, folks, sorry about the repeat messages!!!
  20. Don't quote me but I believe it was a heart attack. I see his brother Les quite often so I'll confirm it when I see him next.
  21. HPW, did you know Alf and Peggy Brown in Hollymount, They had three daughters, Yvonne. Joyce and Pauline. Peggy was my mother's sister. She died just this year. I think the Chivers lived in Hollymount as well, Brian and Les. i know Les well, a good lad, Brian died also this year.
  22. I walked passed the Percy Arms yesterday and caught a glimpse of the 'back yard'. There seems to be quite a lot of space there! But is there enough room for a dozen or so cars?
