On the 14th November 2013 Councillor S Tyler proposed that all committees should be abolished so that all decisions be made through the chair of the full council. This councillor also proposed that West Bedlington Town Council name is changed to West Bedlington Parish Council. I wonder if this would give us more say in what happens or less. The next meeting of the council is Thursday 12th December 2013 at 6.30.

On the Agenda for the 14th Nov 2013. Planning ref 13/00373 Also 13 / 00229 The West Bedlington Town Council discussed comments / responses to the land South West of 21 Front Street. Responses were due 28th Oct 13. As this thread was not started until after the response date, I guess no one saw any publicity.

West Bedlington Greenbelt Consultation. On the 10th 3pm till 6pm Then the meeting 6.30 till 8.30 in the Bedlington Community Centre. Maybe Bedlington In Bloom too! The information comes from a paper supplied by the West Bedlington Council. There is also a meeting on the 14th. It seems there may be a name change to a Parish Council. Would be interested if anyone has any thoughts on the lack of publicity. Seems to me that the Greenbelt would be of interest to a lot of people in Hazelmere and Nedderton Village.

Fantastic picture. Such an honour to meet Nelson Mandela. The poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley 1849/1903 is a brilliant poem that helped.

A few years ago postcards of the Banners were on sale at Woodhorn. Maybe the time has come to remember which ones were which. The Doctor Pit is a start thanks to Foxy and Adam. The walkway into Woodhorn is a good way to remember each and every Banner.

Live power cables down in Ridge terrace, is anyone hurt Malcolm. Has it all been sorted out or are you all still evacuated. How about our old school at Westridge.

Foxy is that Banner Netherton Colliery. Seem to think someone said it had been recycled and used by another colliery. Eggy that part of Waverley Avenue was a playground as a kid, I must revisit. I remember breaking both bones in my arm, reckless driving. (Scooter)

This is a brilliant idea 'Then and Now' Any picture from the past with a picture of now. Well done Foxy and Eggy. I must drive down Waverley Avenue, I though all the houses had been rebuilt.

A day to remember, sadly not for the Bedlington Christmas Lights. The river Tyne has burst its banks, it seems the Court House has been evacuated.

Verdi's we have always called the 'Na Bother Italian' They do a brilliant line in Bedlington /Italian. Maybe they hail from further afield!

My question would be new central heating systems versus old. The old systems seemed to go on forever the new only last for a max of ten years. Get those old home fires burning.

Just been to see Gravity and space seems a dangerous place. Best viewed from the comfort of your own home. As long as the central heating works.

Is it Arrogance Ignorance or just plain Greed. They want the best return for not doing anything.

So Tim Healy switched the lights on in Ashington. Guess we all have to wait with excitement for tomorrow in Bedlington.

Maybe a history / engineering project. A local school or college could 'do up' one of these buses. Why use Red London buses for wedding parties when we could have our own Bedlington Luxury Dixon Jordan Coach. Anyone know of an old Raisbeck bus! Then there could be Orange coach tours. It is nice to dream!

Now is the Winter of our discontent, Made Summer by the Christmas light switch on in Bedlington! I wonder how many pictures we can find of smiling, happy faces on school photos.

I could not possibly say! A formidable lot one and all! Could have been any date from the last hundred years.

I am told there is a meeting on the tenth December. Anyone got any information. Where,When, and What it is about! (West Bedlington is the rumour.) Can anyone attend
