  1. It will be interesting moving forward.
  2. Guidepost/ Stakeford/ Choppington are separate to Bedlington and warrant 420 new dwellings!
  3. 1,200 new homes in Bedlington under the Core Strategy, over the next 20 years. Various locations in Bedlington Green belt or no green belt seems to be a problem! Land owners being creative suggesting odd pieces of land. Transport, schools etc do not seem to be taken into account . View the Northumberland Local Plan - Core Strategy.- Bedlington Unfortunately The town Council were not able to attend the meeting because they had a Britain in Bloom prior engagement at the same venue!!
  4. Hope you have had a good day.
  5. We tried to access the Smithy today without success. After re reading we will try again. It seemed dodgy to walk down someone's drive on Front Street. Towers Close will be changed for ever.
  6. The lights and the Bedlington looked great. Well done.
  7. This is the information I have but I am not sure anyone will be interested! NCC consultation on preferred options for housing, employment and greenbelt! Drop in 3pm till 6pm Discussion 6.30 -8.30 Bedlington Community Centre. This information is from an agenda for the 14th Nov 2013. Maybe it has changed
  8. The Banners are all great. The tradition, the history, will we ever see the like again.
  9. Your on top form Keith or is that just the Status Quo!
  10. Roy Hattersley? Audrey ? Chris Mullen? Maybe not! Good picture though.
  11. Wish it was that simple. Surveys can be manipulated for other information. Sometimes they prove what others want to do anyway. With a green development plan or green energy there are always going to be other issues. Like I said, I admire you and Adam for trying to find the way forward.
  12. The tension is mounting! Who will switch on those lights, will the weather behave.
  13. Democracy can be difficult, so many views, so many opinions and whoever makes a decision can end up feeling persecuted. Strong leadership and the teaching of Machiavelli have appeared on tele this week. Maybe Bedlington is not as bad as the Italian City States.
  14. You have my admiration for being involved Adam. Not the easiest task.
  15. See the Thread Then and Now for Symptoms pictures of the Banners that are so much part of our town
  16. On the 14th November 2013 Councillor S Tyler proposed that all committees should be abolished so that all decisions be made through the chair of the full council. This councillor also proposed that West Bedlington Town Council name is changed to West Bedlington Parish Council. I wonder if this would give us more say in what happens or less. The next meeting of the council is Thursday 12th December 2013 at 6.30.
  17. Brilliant, thank you Symtoms
  18. On the Agenda for the 14th Nov 2013. Planning ref 13/00373 Also 13 / 00229 The West Bedlington Town Council discussed comments / responses to the land South West of 21 Front Street. Responses were due 28th Oct 13. As this thread was not started until after the response date, I guess no one saw any publicity.
  19. West Bedlington Greenbelt Consultation. On the 10th 3pm till 6pm Then the meeting 6.30 till 8.30 in the Bedlington Community Centre. Maybe Bedlington In Bloom too! The information comes from a paper supplied by the West Bedlington Council. There is also a meeting on the 14th. It seems there may be a name change to a Parish Council. Would be interested if anyone has any thoughts on the lack of publicity. Seems to me that the Greenbelt would be of interest to a lot of people in Hazelmere and Nedderton Village.
  20. Fantastic picture. Such an honour to meet Nelson Mandela. The poem Invictus by William Ernest Henley 1849/1903 is a brilliant poem that helped.
  21. A few years ago postcards of the Banners were on sale at Woodhorn. Maybe the time has come to remember which ones were which. The Doctor Pit is a start thanks to Foxy and Adam. The walkway into Woodhorn is a good way to remember each and every Banner.
  22. Thanks for the information on Banners Adam.
  23. A hero for our time.
  24. Live power cables down in Ridge terrace, is anyone hurt Malcolm. Has it all been sorted out or are you all still evacuated. How about our old school at Westridge.
  25. Foxy is that Banner Netherton Colliery. Seem to think someone said it had been recycled and used by another colliery. Eggy that part of Waverley Avenue was a playground as a kid, I must revisit. I remember breaking both bones in my arm, reckless driving. (Scooter)
