How do I get the archive Synergy. Some of your broadcast I have missed.

I sang Rowan! Not being competitive but mountain ash rules. OK! Supposedly it is one of the best to burn, sweet smelling. Renewable energy, Remember the Holly and the Ivy when they are both full grown!

Do not suppose we will have many male comments on this topic. I am not being controversial! Honest.

I have remembered making a meat dish called a cobbler. It was mince with basically a scone mix on top. The recipes Mrs Beaton style have toast, potatoes , or rice as stodge. Maybe it was all cobbled together!

Beautiful song, she surely was a true Northumbrian. 'Tender Hearted' It would have been good to know her, I am sure some of her ancestors are still around.
-
The song:- The Oak and The Ash And The Bonny Rowan tree, has been changed to the Bonny Ivy Tree! Kathryn Tickell sang that version at her night at the Sage and now my Grandaughter is singing the same! Surely The Rowan Tree is the right version, my understanding is that the Rowan Tree has magical qualities. Fishing boats built with the wood could not be affected by evil spirits and red sails were down to the colour of the berries. Northumberland superstition or maybe not. If the Rowan has all these qualities, maybe the posting on Hazelmere could take note. Either way the Ivy is not a tree in my opinion.

Love the idea of our young people starting their own company and promoting our town and area. Pity they are too young to drive, but it is a unique selling point. They deserve to do well. Bedlington Rocks obviously!

I missed last night but the young people with the business plan for making Northumberland Rock sounded really organised. Bedlington's new entrepreneurs. I liked the idea that in marketing their product they are too young to drive. I will be heading to the Chantry to buy. Customised Bedlington Morpeth, Blyth, Ashington and Newbiggin Rock. All with a relevant picture. Such a brilliant idea.

Who knows what gremlins are at work. Maybe just maybe I might get it right sometime soon. Guess you are just going to have to read this one upside down. Keep fit thrown in on the website.

Brilliant! Well done Morpeth.

This could turn into Desert Island Discs Eggy. Colin on Synergy is playing so many records that we have collected over the years ,that it seems he may have borrowed our record collection.

I looked and could not find a date but from the adverts I would say the book is about 100 years old. I will take some pictures and investigate.

Canny Lass or Sherlock Holmes?

Today in the journal they are talking Nuclear energy. I guess the decision is wind, nuclear, bio mass, coal, or even wave power. Perhaps if the government were to allow us all small wind turbines we might feel differently. The subsidies that we are paying through our power bills are, just maybe, going to the wrong people. Would it help to have Generators that are owned by the individual I know the national grid was partly thought up by the Gosforth Company of Mertz and Maclellan, Maybe the time has come for someone to help us all with our own power supply which would bypass the grid.

My neighbour is 93, she was surprised when some health worker made comment about the word and its origins.

Seem to remember condensed milk sandwiches. Tin on the side to get the last drops out. I guess it was supposed to be used for cooking. As the generation born just after the war there was still rationing so I guess we craved sweet things.

Further investigation would indicate Wingate. Not sure about the Golf ball. What a beautiful county we live in. Even in the rain. The mist can add a new dimension. Sacred Hills and Sacred County. Maybe I am biased.
