Yesterday we went to see 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'.
We saw the film before the events in London became news.
Very very thought provoking.
Sometimes an action provokes and then innocent people suffer.
Who gains when we divide into secular groups and make rash generalisations.
We are one World,
Money, power and greed, can encourage stupid people to behave badly.

The modern day Vandals.
The grave stones are valuable as primary historical source material

Oops it was QPR!
Too much excitement.
All in one day..
-
Yep!
The play is being broadcast to several cinemas next week.
The Tyneside Cinema maybe, if anyone is interested in the politics.
-
If you can, listen to Show of Hands, 'Arrogance Ignorance and Greed.'
It is a swipe at bankers bonuses and MPs inventive expenses.
'Your on your Yacht, we 'r on our knees'
'Dealt yourselves a winning hand, loaded every dice'
'Those with something put aside are the ones that you betrayed'
'Pray we will someday be free of your avarice incompetence and your arrogance, your ignorance and greed.'

Always two sides to every argument.
Who do you believe?
What information has been tampered with, who gains!

Newcastle have just saved the day by beating West Ham.
Wonder what cartels are involved there, or am I just being silly!
After all it is more important than life and death.
Phew

How about this for a quote:-
From yesterday's Guardian
Nicholas Lezard writing about Dante
'And he considered the church of his day to be a cesspit in dire need of some spiritual Domestos'
Wonder if we could use this today.
Cosy Costly Cartel!?
Whatever that means!

John, I am interested in the Chartism dates.
In 1832 were we the start of Chartism or were we following others.
Would be great to think we were there first.
1838 until 1848 seem to be the main dates for the movement.

It is the Never Never, that has changed everyone.
Why save money, everyone, from students upwards, gets into dept with , often no way of paying the money back.
It is the government policy.
If you save, somewhere you are going to be made to pay.

Do not know what you are talking about Foxy!

Would love to know what they found at Hollymount.
Exciting stuff!
Maybe it would confirm our place in History.

On the Dept to Asset figures. I think the PFI initiatives and the dept to us the taxpayers could bring us all down.
At the moment the private equities are in a win win situation. No risk, the British Taxpayer pays, locally and nationally.
Wansbeck hospital,I believe, thought about a buy back and the figures were truly astounding.

We now have career politicians, where as in the past we had people who knew about life and hardship.
People prepared to stand up and be counted.
Obviously corruption and self interest seem to rise to the fore.
Hopefully things will change.
The election in two years time may bring a new way of thinking..
I am grateful we all have the right to vote.
There was a time when it was only the posh men folk who could vote.

Very Good,
You could qualify for the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain.
We love their music and humour.
Then there is the story of Bob Dylan going to George Harrison's for lunch and the only way to spend the afternoon, allegedly, was listening or watching to George Formby.
So it will be music on Cambois beach soon.
-
It was Beamish.
Could not resist taking the picture.
-
Somewhere John I read that Cambois was THE important port of call in early history.
I will at some stage try to find the reference.
It makes sense to me because of the nearness of the two rivers.
Therefore a defensive place to land, or to live.
Bedlington because of the higher ground would be a good place to defend.
Fight or flight.
Down to Humford and away.

Radio 4 today 11am

In two, not so quality, newspapers this week, ( sorry Symptoms) there are interesting articles.
Wednesdays Metro
Humans living 15,000 years ago used many of the words we continue to utter today, a study published by a British University claims.
The 'I' newspaper yesterday
The much derided 'aquatic ape' theory is getting a public airing.
Did humans come from the seas rather than the savannah?
Basically we can write ourselves into the story.
Cuthbert, there is evidence.
Bede the name is there and I cannot believe he did not visit the holy places where Saint Cuthbert's body had rested.
Escaping the Viking's Bedlington would have provided safety together with places to hid or escape.
The view to the sea would have been an early warning system.
If, on the time line, Hartford woods were used in the last war as secret hideouts, why not earlier.
Creative history.
Certainly worth an argument! Sorry discussion!

It is great to hear that Solar Power Rocks!
Maybe said to lower the tone of high political debate!
However, I am not sure the political debate can ever be won!
Power corrupting and all.
-
No one would have survived a pub crawl around that lot!
-
Excellent work, pity earlier dates could not be added.
No written records!
We need a time machine to go back to the future.
One thing we all agree on is the importance of Bedlington in our lives.
From the depths of our hearts we have learnt to love the place.
'What is this life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare'
Maybe we should keep Bedlington for ourselves.
-
Holidays in Wansbeck, that sounds good.
We need Waitrose to listen up and take notice.
Upwardly mobile with trendy modes of transport.
