Could the water behind the Red Lion be the clue here!
Maybe in 1851 this was the location for a Fountain Hall.
Anyone got some very old maps

Gold for full cream
Silver for not a lot of cream

The company makes the feast me lad
And music weaves her spell
Song and story, pipes and fiddle,
Friends we all know well
And every act is noted
From masterpiece to least
Hard times here are yesterday
The company makes the feast.

Before the Health and Safety strike, I wonder who and what we can record.
Today is a birthday in the family and it seemed like a good day to remember all those who have gone before.
The cemetery still provides echoes past and present.
So many names there of people on the site.

It is in the Journal too.
Fame at last.
Bring in the tourists.

Epsom Racecourse now has a plaque in memory of Emily. It has been erected at the place where she suffered her fatal injuries.
It seems the ceremony was attended by a large number of Emily's relations who came from all over the World.
The plaque says
' her lifelong dedication to women's suffrage and the contribution she made to the lives of British women, past and present, is remembered'
Lauren Caisley unveiled the plaque.
