  1. Maybe of interest if you cannot get to visit the new lady in our midst.

I think this summer and after we are going to find rather a lot of visitors in the area.

We may even have to complain about Bloody Tourists.

  2. Again this could be in the humour section.

The entrance has to be seen to be believed.

To think people were campaigning against the too bright signs of the Morrisons Garage, a few years ago!

Maybe we are just jealous, in Bedlington what could we do with just a fraction of the money spent.

  3. Morpeth that reminds me of the Easter tradition of 'Egg boolin and jaapin, at Morpeth's Easter Field.

If you have not been to Morpeth for a while you will be shocked at the new Morrisons.

Gone is the Old Red Bull pub and in it's place a palace to consumerism, complete with a totally over the top entrance.

  4. Yesterday part of the building behind the site now has exposed foundations.

Despite the back fill and the work they are doing the buildings around and the road all look like an accident waiting to happen.

Not sure who drives up behind the Sun Inn but anyone doing so is very very brave.

  5. If you want to Mang the cant, you need to read Gordan Wilkinson's book

    Muckle Bari Morts and Gadgies.

I got a copy from the Morpeth Chantry.

In the book the author says the Morpeth Dialect is a mixture of Northumbrian, Miners Pitmatic and some Urdu words from the Romany Gypsies.

The author who I think is from somewhere in Bedlington also says,

    Jugal is a dog

    Deek means look.

    Bari means good.

    Shan is bad.

    Radgie is crazy

Deek, Bari and Radgie I remember using in Bedlington

  6. Wonder how many jockeys have died in the Grand National.

How many others have been traumatised because of what they have witnessed both to the jockeys and the horses.

Has anyone committed suicide years later because they could not get it out of their mind.

Obviously paying tribute to the cause first.

There are so many reasons to thank Emily.

She has caused us to discuss these issues.

  7. You learn something new every day.

My childhood was lacking discovery time at Cambois.

Aliens and Monsters! Oops sorry I meant to say, that the powers that be we're protecting us all from disaster!

On the basis of the film threads set in Sheffield, I think, in the event of nuclear warfare the best option is death.
