  1. Clicked on your link webtrekker and just as I was connected to the 'activistp' web site my 'Malwarebytes' - reported 'Malicious website blocked'. Apart from this site I was connected to Facebook site 'WordsWithFriends' so I have to suspect the 'activistp' site. I closed down the 'actvistp' link. I can't rove the malware came from this site.   2. This years Seghill Treats Committee staged their annual 'Aged persons free Xmas meal and entertainment'. Top of the bill was Joseph, on vocals accompanied by Mary on the keyboard Merry Xmas Bedlington.

Wooden railway bridge over the river Blyth - William Ricalton, on the Sixtownships site posted this postcard with the comment :- "It was found in a house clearance here in Longhorsley, thought it might be of interest." Checked all the other photos of the old wooden bridge and this is the clearest photo of them all, showing more of the house on the Bedside side of the river.

Some of the comments to the photo posting on the Bygone Bedlington site were :- Brenda Ellis Mr&Mrs Gair lived next door Jimmy joe and carol Wharton lived there but don't know if they moved before they were all pulled down, x Wendy Reed Mr & Mrs Gair did move in time. They moved in next door to my mam & dad in Westlea. Brenda Ellis I know they all moved in time and the Gair s moved to meadowdale next to my sister there were 2 Gair family's lived in the colliery. Joan Morland Thats right Jimmy & Isa lived next to your Thelma & pat & peggy went to westlea Think this Photo is Jimmy & Isa Brenda Ellis That's what I thought Joan they lived second of bottom used to be where the bowers lived, x Robert Morland james james james, yar killing me with all these memories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are another 50+ comments on this but I will leave it at that - the posting got them all going for a few days.

  8. Can't even rubber-neck cos the road is closed. Drove down Front Street last Monday heading for Horton and had to take diversion at the Market Place as Bedlington Bank closed and when I tried again today - still closed. Can't find anything on the www.

    Posted in Bygone Bedlington by James Lee Ansley - I thought it had another name Brenda before Navy? Joan Morland - No James it was closed for 5yr after netherton moved to where it is now then it opened for men & women who were in the navy, it was Sid Newton and 7 others that started it off.

  17. Tony - there is a topic 'Salmon Place ?' in 'Talk of the Town - Members Only' from 2014. BedlingtonianTerrier Members51 postsPosted 09 July 2014 - 01:09 PM Hi Tonyp, Francis and Jane Heron were in Salmon Place in 1911 with their children Mary 8yrs, Francis 6yrs, Margaret 4yrs and Samuel 2yrs. Jane is shown as 34 yrs from Bellingham. It appears that Francis Ward Heron married Jane Charlton in 1901 in Bellingham.
  18. Canny Lass - a couple of names for you to check on the Nedderton Village School photo. On the off chance of an update I re-posted the photo on Bygone Bedlington site when a couple of people had added comments on the Netherton Dining Centre posting saying they had lived in Plessey Street & First Street. Joan Morland A few I know on here just a year older than me next to Joan short is Pamela Straw I'm trying to remember the others if I do will put them on. Joan Morland Next to Moria Climson is Lorna Naisby & are you Ann Bower as the lass next to Ann Moore looks like Ann Maureen Wilce We lived at 9 First street.

  20. There you go, The Nichols Garrow Home for the bind had buried itself under my conker tree brain bank! At the age of 12-15 it was the best place, ie the biggest conkers and loads of 'cheesers', that we knew of and naturally at that age the fact that the residents couldn't see us was perfect. We never knew it was a home for the blind when we first went so we used to hide behind the garden walls, behind the cooking apple tree. Ages before we realised and stopped hiding. Cheeser = conker with flat side - result of two conkers in the shell
