  1. Mine was a GSX600F slingshot.

unfortunatly after a damn good thrashing one day an officer noticed my lack of licence.

the fact the bike was insured, taxed and mot'd made no difforence and i was rightly fined the £650 and given the 6 points for driving a 600cc motocycle without the relevent licence and invalid insurance.

how was i to know you needed 2 years on a 125 licence before you could upgrade???

  2. yup, pubs are along the front street, and the chippy is next to the subway. roumour has it we have a swimming pool at st bennet biscops, fee's payable at bedlingtonshire high school.

a squash court is available against the garages in west lea, (so the kids tell me) and the age old sport of 'curbsy' is still available along every street.

dunno what you all complain about!

  3. But Joe there isn't a lot of choice of hockey teams right now!

I have been trying to post some REAL pictures but they just won't go.

may i suggest a temporary solution?

Try going to Free Webs where you can get a limited amount of space for free, that you can link to from this forum?

When i get my other computer fixed i'll post some of the ones i have featuring the stepping stones, the 'dam' and other landmarks.

(the one of the dam i'm quite impressed with... )

    :D:blink::D

  4. ***NEWSFLASH***

The sleepy town of Bedlington has been rocked this bank holiday weekend as all the 'Weekend Dads' of the town all congregated on the towns 'black bridge' and pretended to be lemmings.

one father of 4 was asked at the scene what was going on to which he replied 'pencil neck was right, we are worthless!'

exactly what had happened is still unclear, although police are investigating a poem that was apparently posted on a local website forum.

altogether it is estimated that 250 men have jumped off the bridge, 190 of them stuck in the sleck waiting on the tide coming in, whilst the other 60 did their best to impersonate jam on the roadway as busses and cars drove over them.

    more news, as it happens....

  5. yup, all 3 got off, juges decision was that the evedence presented did not reflect the origional charges, so their was no case to answer.

basically, 1 had nothing to do with it, 1 escorted steve from the bar to the stairs and handed custody over to the head doorman. this head doorman claims he released steve at the top of the stairs, steve started to walk out, then turned and attacked him. in defence he put out his hands, which knocked steven down the stairs. this action was the one that caused the fatal blow that put a 5 inch fracture in steves skull and broke his neck, and since it was in self defence, cannot be charged as manslaughter.

the doorman that had nothing to do with the ejection said in his statment he had said 'throw him down the stairs' in a statment to police, but he did not mean this litterally.

i believe steve did turn and confront the doorman after this comment. but you try it, have someone stand 3-4 steps down a flight of stairs when your at the top, and try and push him, in defence, down the stairs. tell me how many times you can push someone with enough force to send them head first, and backwards, down those stairs without falling down them yourself.

my point is this, you push someone away, its self defence.

you place your foot around the chest area and push hard you'll find this has the effect of sending that man down the stairs, backwards, and head first, and in no way that i know of can that be anything but manslaughter, if not murder.

but then again, i am bias.

it was a terrible accident what happened that night, one that has shaped the lifes of stevens family for ever.

I just hope a lesson has been learned that will make things safer.

guys, if a doorman asks you to leave the bar, just move on, theirs plenty more places to drink. dont risk loosing your life over a spilled pint, like steven did.

  6. i have been asked by the officer in charge not to talk about this case whilst it is in session. the case is due to last 3 weeks, starting monday. a full report will be posted to you all after the result is made public.

sorry i cant give you a blow by blow but it may affect the case.

    May Justice be Done

  7. Sadly, in june last year a buisness man born in bedlington lost his fight for life after an unfortunate accident in a quayside nightspot... or was it an accident?

The man, who had built his buisness up from scratch, was out on a 'stag do' in the town as one of his mates was getting married. unfortunatly he was asked to leave a certain nightspot, and on his way out, tumbled down a flight of stairs, breaking his neck and putting him in a coma for three weeks. he never regained conciousness.

The police suspect foul play, and after interviewing a witness, arrested 3 door staff, 2 of which worked at the bar in question, and one from a bar next door. They pleaded not guilty to the charges of 2x manslaughter and 1x murder. they were bailed.

their trial starts on monday 20th march, 2006.

their has been a lot of rumours about what happened that night, but thats all they are, roumours, the truth will come out starting monday.

From what i hear, this murder investigation is cut and dry, a dead cert of conviction, but i know how the law works, so, i've decided to keep the people of bedlington posted on the course of the trial, and of the final verdict.

you will notice... no names have yet been mentioned, or places. this is because in my eyes everyone has the right to a fair trial, and the right to be inocent until proven guilty. naming names just wouldnt be right at this stage, however, some of you may be familier with the dearly departed, so his name i will mention now.

Steven Doyle, Aged 38. sucsessful buisnessman and father of 3.

If these men were responsible for this mans death, i hope the courts are fair, and sentence them accordingly, and if not guilty, i hope they sue the papers for naming them as murderers. The way papers just blurt out names even before a trial is unbeleavable, condeming most to a hellish life even when innocent.

Lets see if Justice is done, and Steven Doyles family get some closure over why this much loved man was taken from them.

Any comments made can be passed on to his family if you wish. Just say.

  8. Surly common sense should be applied and the pensioner should have this debt written off, It can't be right that a pensioner should have to sit and worry about this or have money took off his pension for the rest of his life. Whats your oponion?

i agree, this back-tracking over many years is just rediculous!

i personally think the law should be if a mistake has not been uncovered after 2 years then the debt should be repaid up to a maximum of 2 years, and monies before that are forfieted. its obvious the council did not miss this money, or this would have come to light sooner. treating an old age pensioner in this way is dispicable, and fair play to him for getting away with the £25k!

a simmiler incident has happened to me, my parents bought their council house 15 years ago, and 2 years ago the council realised we still had use of a garage that used to be paid for on our rent. so basically we've had a council owned garage for 15 years for nothing!

they demanded a silly amount of money, something in the reigion of £3k for this period (we only paid £10 a month before!) The matter went to court and the judge ruled a compensation payment of £250 would be paid to the council and the rest of the debt written off as it was the councils own fault they did not ask for payment.

now theirs a case of the justice system working to its fullest!

  9. Incidentally, what are everyone's funniest canine moments? I particularly enjoy seeing a dog with it's head out of the window of a car when travelling at a decent rate of knots. Always makes me giggle that one.

Mine personally was the introduction of the description 'wicket keeper' to my personal vocabulary!

see'ing the cricket still makes me giggle as i wait for the brown stump to appear between the wicket keepers legs as the ball hurtles down toward the bails.... just as nature intended! a picture would be added but i just dont seem to be able to add them!

  10. trying to locate members of the swinney families located in bedlington, ashington, morpeth & alnwick area's

    please pm any info please....

I am aquainted with some of the swinney family. would the brood consisting of emma, ben, mathew and callum be the ones you are looking for?

  11. i'm sorry, but i just have to bring this up!

isnt it disgusting how we are made to inhale the fumes from a car parked in the red lion bus stand while the owner 'nips in' for a paper. its disgusting. and those busses should be made to turn their engines off too! the stench when they sit for 30 seconds or more whilst pasengers alight. disgusting.

oh, and while i'm on the subject, bicycle puncture repair glue, those sodding kids leave the tops off and polute my air every week!

but seriously, dont ban cigs, just spend the money put aside for policing this stupid ban on extractor fans in public places and lets all have a pint.

    i mean, for gods sake!

  12. am i missing something?

i know souness is probably a crap manager, but surely you cant blame the lad, i mean, who exactly has the purse strings at nufc?

i heard he demanded a few new players at the last transfer window or newcastle wouldnt do well, but his highness the chairman wouldnt give him the funds to buy anyone. now is that really fair?

  13. last year a local martial arts group were looking into developing it into a full time dojo, back then their was talk of the 'piss corner' being taken out and shutters put in.

i think this development is merely going on to make the place more 'presentable' to would be future renters.

as far as i know, permission has been sought for take away (chinchillas - refused) solicitors and a travel agents, but all were refused planning permission.

the martial arts place got the go-ahead, but they pulled out due to a better offer elsewhere, maybe they reconsidered?

  14. i was sitting in the cafeteria of my pennymaking experience the other day and we started a conversation about this very subject, the results were....boring to be honest, but still had a theme...

mainly their were difforent paths youths take in their experience of alcohol.

mine, as with most others in the conversation, went like this:

age 13: pinching the odd can of lager, then sprawling about the local 'hangout' exclaiming 'am mortal me like how' and being an !*!@# .

age 15: the cider age. bottles of white lightening, old english (if you had a few quid), woodpecker and blackthorn each weekend, 20-20 if you could get it!

age 16-17: vodka, starting with a quarter bottle, but swiftly moving up to 70cl.(mostly throwing up 50cl before you get home)

age 17-18 out in bars, getting refused, drinking pints of lager (5 got you mortal)

age 19+: starting with lager, moving on to spirits aroung 9.30-10pm. pizza or chips on way home, maybe a kabab

age 25: and this is where i differ: guinness, mainly mixed with cider if out for a pissup, lager if out with the squeeze.

age 28: considering moving to john smiths/ale. cheeper and less of a hangover

    anyone else follow this pattern?
