Water Water Everywhere....
Good idea, and when we eventually get Hartford Hall gates back we can reposition them across the road as toll gates (Blazing Saddles style) We, the slack jawed, banjo playing yokels of a backwater shire in the South (east Northumberland) will pick up our pitchforks and rebel . REBEL !!! I tell ya'll REBEL !!!!!

Where's Our Road Salt & Grit?
Aye, not too bad Brett . As you say estates are not the priority. The main roads, A1, A 697, A 68, A69, A689 etc along with bus routes and schools / hospitals need to be cleared. There is one thing though, why does it all seem to be a mad panic at the last minute ? Its not as if it has not been forecast. Also, my daughters other half came in from work on Friday, was in the house an hour when he was called out for the gritting teams. He does another 14 hours at work. Next morning he had some breakfast and jumped into bed. He had only been in bed 10 mins when his works phone rings and its his gaffer shouting and screaming and asking where the hell he is, hes needed on the gritters. The phone gets out down sharpish.

Northumberlandia
There was also an abundance of clay to get rid of. We were going flat out to get as much as we could into Ibstock Brick at Throckley. They could take no more and as it happened several hundred tonnes had to be thrown out (backfilled into Red Barns Quarry). This had to be moved so the underpass could be built under the road at the Delhi opencast. Also Castle Clay could not take anymore from Shotton so this meant that Banks had zillions of tonnes of clay to dispose of................. Northumberlandia. (or was it just a coincidence that all that clay and waste material was going spare)

- Bedlington Station (A Winter Wonderland)
It seems to keep them calm and placated. Mind you, when Summer comes, the pretty blue lights might attract the midges- Bedlington Station (A Winter Wonderland)
Driving up to the Spar last night (19 / 01) to seek 2 bottles of medicine, er, Merlot ( the estate has taken on the appearance of the Cresta run ), I noticed how pretty the "Station " was looking in deepest Winter. Discarded chip and kebab wrappers, seemed to be frozen to the pavement giving a wavy appearance to the "street scape". Icicles were hanging from the dissused christmas lights and the windows of the Clayton were so frosted it appeared they were all broken. People stepping on to the icy pavement on exiting the Clayton were very unsteady on their feet., (one could almost think they were very inebriated). Colourful language turned the air a pretty shade of blue, to match the bruises on their faces, received while partaking in a bar room sport of which the punters of the Clayton seem to excell in. I have to say though, the men weren't much better behaved. Well some of the above might be a slight exageration (ie, frozen chip papers and icicles) This bit aint. THE CHRISTMAS TREE IS STILL UP outside Sleekburn house. Not only is it still up, it is still lit up. Now, when the switch was thrown (by a very dissapointed young girl ) the lights didn't work, apparently no-one told the street lighting depatment to fit the appropiate fuse. A week later it was fitted and we, at the Station had (still have ) a very pretty Christmas tree. It may be that the parish is looking to save money on the erection and dismantling of Christmas decoration by leaving it up permanently following the almost succesful trial of leaving the rest of the street decorations up all year round, for the past 2 or 3 years. However, one lesson has been learned. They are leaving it lit :- 1) Because of the difficulty in getting the lights switched on in the first place.... and ....... 2) The other lights along Ravensworth Tce were not switched on because the chippy, where the switch is located, is shut down. Nobody had the nouse to ring the letting agent to gain access to the switch. A (continuing) merry Christmas everyone.- Quiz Connections

I've filled it in. The final section (demographic information ) what a complete and utter load of TOSH !! I think the only relevance was Q20 what area do you live in ? the others are just balony. Crime is Crime, it does not matter if you are :- black / white, straight / gay / transexual / trans gender, old /young , able bodied or diasabled. I made a point in my responses that the police are pussyfooting too much arround the above instead of going straight out and nicking those who THEY KNOW have committed the crimes, and what do they dedicate the last page to............... I'm thinking the police are too frightened to make some arrests in case they are prosecuted themselves for contravening the rights of the above. - Bedlington Railway Station
