Northumberland Film And Tv
We've not done too badly in that department lately Adam. - Vera was filmed in the area. They took over the Welwyn for a day or two the last time, made it look like an Army barracks. They spent a lot of time in Cambois, West Sleekburn, East Sleekburn and North Blyth, as well as fiming in Newbiggin and Blyth (the old farmhouse at the south beach)

Bedlington Church Hall
I whent to that school... happy memories. Pity it couldn't be put to use as a place that would benefit the youth of the town, or even some form of learning centre for adults

Free Woods Bandstand
Agree with Brett, welcome James. Pretty sure the bandstand and the 7 sisters Poplar trees were still arround in the 70's though. I think the trees succumed to wind damage and mebe finaly dissapeared during the miners strike in the early 80's......... certainly around after the 60's anyway

Blyth Shipyard
He needs to get across here and get him to the South Harbour in Blyth 'cos some of them dont know how to work it. They keep dropping them in the dock, or as in one incident a container full of wine was dropped from height onto the dockside. And another was "lost" for months, until a diver fixing a prop on the container ship found it at the bottom of the dock (after the ships prop found it that is )

Bedlington Leisure Centre
I was just reminded of something after reading Adams post in the Announcement section Talking to someone recently, I was taken totaly by surprise when he told me what he had been told by someone connected to East Bedlington Parish Council. The man from EBPC had told him that there are rumours that when the "New high school" is built, the existing sports facilities are to be developed into the new Bedlington sports and leisure centre. Can anyone elaborate on this as I have never even heard of any plans to build a new high school, let alone developing a leisure centre from the dregs of the current one. ? It could all be a pie in the sky and just chinese wispers doing the rounds, but there again, there is no smoke without fire and maybe there is a modecum of truth in the rumours. There is also the possibility that it is all true and I have simply heard anything of it

He was only in his early - mid 50's when he played Grandad in the series of the same name, made up to be 20 or 30 years older.
