@Canny lass Hej! x Hoping you’ve conquered the great jam crusade ❣️. Me’nMax are just back from a Puce Bush Farm expedition, the vegetation is now knee high, down from thigh high in midsummer. I’m determined to find remains of the habitation and expect January ish to be able to send you a downright riveting photo of a stone or maybe 3!! Bestest regards Roseanne 🌈😁x

Morning @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) @Canny lass@HIGH PIT WILMA I’ve just spent 15 minutes trying to work my way through this communication; I’d been emailed that HPW had made a response to something/one but I can’t find it 🤔xx However I also haven’t seen any responses from @Andy Millneor @John Fox (foxy). I’m probably just gazing at the moon again but I’m also wondering about some of the recent “interlopers” in this group and whether it’s just coincidence that systems are changing and admin are notable by their absence? 😐🤷🏼♀️🌈👋🏻x

Hiya @Canny lass! Yes, absolutely, that’s where I came unstuck! I’d seen cleggs, knew what they looked like and many a time in childhood ran screaming from these evil monsters 😱xx The beasties who attacked me bore no resemblance to the cleggs I had encountered. Yellowish brown, gang warfare, didn’t know wtf they were. Guessed at hornets but my hero CuzzieKeith made me investigate further and I’ve isolated the beasties; definitely one of the many manifestations of horsefly. It’s 3 weeks since the attack and I’m still scratching, irritated and hating the little buggers 🤬. 🎶I’ll no more a-roving go🎶- cleggs are the the thugs of the insect community and I’m a victim of the evil beasties of nature 😫xxR

Oh @HIGH PIT WILMA!! I’m weeping for Micky as I’m reading your account, tears dripping off my chin. What a little darling he sounds; I’m supposing Micky was a boy dog but his mothering of the kittens makes me wonder? I can only imagine how heartbroken you were; I’ve had over a dozen dogs over the years and I miss each and every one of them 😢-my bairns ❣️xx I was a nurse, never stopped to have children and never regretted that; my bairns all had fower legs 💕🌈xxR

“Horse flies love damp areas and hot weather. During the summermonths, you're likely to find them in pasturelands near creeks, damp woodlands and in long grasses. According to the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, peak horsefly season is between May and September”. Due to Cousin @Keith Batey’ s diligence I have found out the wee ferocious beasties weren’t hornets after all but a particularly aggressive swarm of horseflies! I didn’t know there’s a whole range of them and was fooled by the yellowish brown colour. Cuzzie Keith insisted I should take a closer look at horseflies on Google and he was absolutely right, all the information fitted. It’s now over 2 weeks since I was bitten twice on my right ankle and I’m still scratching (currently got my feet in a foot spa laced with Epsom salts and lavender oil) A whole new experience for me; I grew up knowing and fearing “clegs ”, but these buggers were a totally different experience and vicious with it! It’ll be Winter when I venture out to the remains of Puce Bush Farm again 🥺!

Hoping all is well in your household and that you’re recovering ❤️🩹 well? xx Yes, I’ve finally sorted through everything and set aside a small pile of pics and clips for your expert determination, but, I’m like a mad moth; I’m drawn to the sun, so gallivanting a lot and then when it rains I’ve got the housework to catch up on. Yup @Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) that’s my belief, found this while working through Dad’s photos/clippings =treasure trove. Same size/format as my last pic of the?opencast wagon way across the Blyth I submitted recently. Date is beyond me; hopefully I’ll find more of the set to get nearer a date 🤞🏻XxR
