I was reading this blog not long ago which mentions Kidds Yard at the top of Glebe Bank `We lived in Kidds yard at the top of Glebe bank. The entrance was through an arch`..The author of the blog also mentions Catholic Row etc Some on here might find it interesting..he has some good stories to tell.
  2. Aye, Doctor Dolittle..cos he`s barking
  3.  Can i have a pea

Could this be the building that you mention? This is the Old Hall. It looks like what you`re describing.
  5. Can i have a one for coming 4th?

If you`re saying that Wilson`s Yard was the workhouse, then in answer to your question `Yes, there is a difference between Bedlington Old Hall and the workhouse`...they`re in two different places. If you look at the top map, you will see the Council Offices (Old Hall), then Wilson`s Yard. The `Institute` on the top map is where the Community Centre is now.
  7. No news in here for a while so i`ve decided to quit this particular league. Nice while it lasted
  8. In reality, it should have read `by the third day, some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough for him to remove the lawn mower from his jacksy, fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.`
  9. Instead of paying 20 quid etc, why not save your money and buy the ingredients needed for the dish you fancy, invite some friends around, have a few drinks..guarantee you`ll save a tenner at least Eating out is ok for a special occasion i suppose, not something i would do though. You can never be too sure what you`re actually getting served
  10. `I pay REAL money (not housing benefits) in council tax and expect a REAL service` Whichever way money`s paid, the fact is `it`s paid` You can`t expect a superior service just because it was paid by yourself and not Housing Benefit..money is money.
  11. AND they were on minimum wage! I know for a fact that some of those workers had never done work like that before. Is it any wonder it turned out like it did? It`s like giving me a shovel and letting me get on with it

  13. There`s no place for a market on the Front street. They won`t be able to put it at the new market place, all the stones are wonky and sticking up
  14. So, if there was a Maccy`s in Bedlington, would you actually use it?

Girl or not, why would i be interested in footie anyway unless i like it?.. I do like to watch the World Cup though..that`s about it though.

Haway now, CK and Monsta scroll to the sports bit Seriously, i`m not a footie fan, what happens outside of England concerning footie..well, it`s not top of my priorities in life to worry about it! Maybe i`m not getting the gist of the full scale here but there`s no need for the Esther comments! like
  17. All this talk of McDonalds on here is making me wonder...how many people in Bedlington actually buy from them anyway? I for one have only used them once or twice, that`s only because i was starving at the time and that was the first food place i came to at the time! I certainly wouldn`t use them because i `fancied a McDonalds` Their `food` is tasteless and cheaply made, all it does is `fill a hole`...

If you thought the darts belonged in the Sports forums why did you start the thread in Chat Central? Of course the World Cup should go ahead. You can`t wrap folk up in cotton wool..things happen. That`s life. If it had happened in England it would be a different story. Not only would the World Cup be finished with, football would be finished too, the prized footballer`s have to use buse`s you know, they might get attacked by gunmen too! (health and safety)
