April 2, 201511 yr Author thanks for the Photo eggy1948 i spent many a time in there having a gill with the owner Joe metcalf and some of my old marras from the rows.the name Giffo was given to me by Mr brewises stepson Jack Hall who thought i looked like a boxer who was going around the boxing shows at the time, i was ten at the time and working for Mr Brewis on his farm , which was opposite side of the road to Westridge schull , not there at the time though

April 2, 201511 yr Welcome aboard,Giffo,your nickname ain't half as bad as mine,when your marra's shout across the street to say watcheor Wilma!!Great shot of the Gardner's,and the chung-gum machines bring back many memories![they came in around 1954-5-ish.]You got two packets of gum for every fourth turn of the knob,so my older,wiser,Brother,used to persuade the other kids to put another penny in,if he saw the arrow at 12-0 o'clock.That put the arrow on the knob at three o clock....then he wud dive in and put his penny in and get two packets!!Crafty bugger was my Brother!!Howw,ya deaing weel there mind,aam just a skittering young ched compared ti your good self!!
