  1. "Just don't hold it that way" Why do I have a feeling that one is going to come back and bite.
  2. If it lands in my inbox i'm not going to retype it that's the whole idea of the site. Incidentally this is what happens when a news article is posted now. The forum discussion topic is auto generated and comments are synced between the two.
  3. As you are probably aware Bedlington, like the rest of the county, has been and will be hit with a package of cuts while Northumberland County Council re-adjusts its financial budgets. One of these measures has been to put our Community Centre on closure notice. To try and mitigate the effects of these cuts, and to bring in additional value for our communities, a Development Trust for Bedlingtonshire has been formed. This Development Trust has formally registered an interest in taking over the Community Centre in an effort to keep it open and accessible for us all. A business plan is being worked on which will go before Northumberland County Council for their consideration. A vital part of this business plan will be to ask the community for voluntary help in the initial stages of a possible takeover. By reading this you have already registered an interest in community life within Bedlington and we would therefore respectfully ask if you could consider helping us in our endeavours. We need a handful more people who are willing to give up some of their time to keep the Community Centre open. This should be a short term initiative as development plans are being considered which will make the Community Centre sustainable and allow for its normal commercial viability. We believe our Community Centre can/will and should be the heart of our community and if that is something you agree with please contact us for further information or leave your thoughts in the comments. Brian Oliver, Secretary. Bedlingtonshire Development Trust.

Well no they shouldn't actually, the whole idea of the web is persistent hyperlinking, it's not a temporary media like your olde world newspapers you know and there isn't anything broken about that link.

  11. The facelift was in 2008 so that orange monstrosity would be one of the early facelifts.. This year the changes were the ST1 was dropped and the ST3 got lots of convenience features like auto wipers, auto headlights, keyless entry, rear parking sensors, heated seats... This is the pre-facelift...
  12. Gonna post this again... http://www.teslamotors.com/models/ If that thing works as advertised Electric cars will officially be "cool"
  13. Loving the iPhone, popping up safari and not finding browsing the web with it a chore is fantastic. Nothing from Nokia comes close on this. I think some of the newer Android based HTC phones have got their act together now though. I'd probably love the iPad too but somebody would have to buy one for me because I think it's overpriced. I had a play with one in the Sheffield Apple store the other day and, although it's nice, I don't think I could justify it.
  14. Make a car, a plane, or maybe... another can. ... A Fork
  15. Was thinking about plantation site and perhaps it's too densely planted for paintball. Maybe a quasar type setup would be better and limit the insurance liability. On it's own I'm not sure it would work but maybe combined with other things? It could offer various "team building" activities. There may be funding available if it went that route. Perhaps a candidate to come under a development trust umbrella? It should compliment other trust ventures nicely.
  16. +1 for paintballing on the plantation.
  17. So it is, thanks for that. The easiest way to promote your business is by contributing items to the news section all for free. All we ask is the item is newsworthy and likely to interest people connected with Bedlington not just a blatant advert. For commercial sponsorship pm me for details. Paid advertising is not-for-profit and simply covers contributes towards the hosting bill.
  18. Yes is the short answer although it's not immediately obvious to me what the problem is. Will fix asap.
  19. Aside from a few more additions I want to make to the homepage I've just about finished this round of updates. The biggest change is the way news is now handled. It is now possible for any member to submit news articles directly to the site. The homepage will now serve as a content aggregator and will pull together hot topics, news, latest gallery pics, classified ads, upcoming calendar events etc. Think of it as a way to get an at-a-glance overview of whats happening in Bedlington Feel free to post any feedback or suggestions in this thread.
