Here's one then Adam, who or whats behind the screen? I've left a clue in there, Very well known in Bedlington, If you get stuck just get on to Granny Robinsons Crystal Ball. :|

  2. The big'un could be the Pacific Princess and the tug boat might be the Alnwick? :punk:

If you need help identifying any more foxy just ask......................

It was the dates that were the problem,

I've got them now but had I known Old Francis Moore was using this site then I could have saved John and Adam the trouble. I'll certainly keep you in mind for next time though.

NOW ABOUT MY PRIZE FOR WINNING THIS BOUT.

A nice round the world cruise would be nice; somewhere south of the equator where the sunshine's bright and the islands are full of hoochie coochie girls. Have a whip round and I'll meet you at Thomas Cook's tomorrow.

    Until next time, adios amigos.

Think you'd have more fun at the next Council Meeting

  4. I have been trying to trace information on my family name MARLEY and would apprciate if any person has any information?

Grandfather was Joseph born approx 1897 married to Myra Froggatt and according to the 1911 census my Great Grandfather was John James born approx 1864 married to Hannah Jobson and lived at 44 Shiney (Shiney as spelt in the census) Row Bedlington.

Early 1960's I can remember staying in Bedlington with my dad's aunt Sal or Sally also visiting my Great Grandmother who was looked after by Jean somewhere near the station (more than 50 years so the memory is not too good) Dad's name was Gilbert Ross Marley.

Visited the Bedlington cemetry today and found quite a few Marley headstones so maybe there are still Marley's living in the area.

There's a Marley on the Football team photo recently added to the Gallery.

  5. You ain't a Chelsea supporter are you foxy?

No Malcolm, I'm an ardent supporter of Wetherspoons when I can get served.

I went in there last Thursday night and I was fully aware of the new system that seems to be operating in there where you win a Goldfish if you manage to get served within 10 minutes, thats wether the bar is busy or quiet. However the bar was quiet and I was attended to in 9 minutes and 50 seconds so missed out on the Goldfish by a mere 10 seconds.I was fully expecting to be offered anything from the second shelf as a consolation but no luck there either. Mind you, I did feel guilty disturbing the bar staff when they had to be dragged out of the back room to attend the bar. Never mind I'll keep trying. ;)

  6. Now that the finger of accusation of racial abuse is being pointed at the referee Mark Clattenburg after yesterdays match at Chelsea, I wonder if the F. A are going to hang one their "own" out to dry before any inquest, as they did with Mr Terry.

  7. We urgently need a re run of the nominations.................... :wtf2:

I wonder if there's any chance we could get Commissioner Gordon out of retirement. He took his lot from Gotham City in the late sixties and to date has still not been accused of Pension and Expenses scams, Nepotism, tearing up Speeding Tickets or Driving under the influence. They don't seem to make them like that nowadays.

  8. Yes I fondly remember the "Sir Fon” I never was a sea farer! but do remember the paddle tug boats, the "Cowpen” dredger and the many passenger liners, aircraft carriers, submarines on their way to Bolkow”s.

The only boats I travelled on were the two ferries, the chain ferry (on my way to work as apprentice at the power station) and the low ferry we used to go and pick wilik's.

Oh! and the Polish and Dutch fishing boats, used to buy "tabs" from them!

    Old Postcard and Photo.

Well Merc, when I was 18 years old (which is not long ago) :) I visited the Blue Bell most weekends, however

It was better known then as "The Swinging Tit" you can draw your own conclusions why :dribble:
