  2. ITALIAN SECRET TO A LONG MARRIAGE At St. Peter's Catholic Church in Toronto, they have weekly husband's marriage seminars. At the session last week, the priest asked Giuseppe, who said he was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years. Giuseppe replied to the assembled husbands, 'Wella, I'va tried to treat her nicea, spenda da money on her, but besta of all is, I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!' The priest responded, 'Giuseppe, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary?' Giuseppe proudly replied, " I gonna go pick her up."
  3. Well John said its 'fruity' on his radio review, should be a good read!
  4. Like the cut of ya jib NE22………. NCC are in no doubt the Bedlington community are sick and tired of being fobbed off, not even with second best, with crumbs from the top table. They have been forced to put together a group looking at leisure provision in Bedlington, which has a sub group looking into developments for Gallagher Park. Working with Friends of Gallagher Park the Development Trust did a community consultation (look on this site I asked for input here too!) and we got almost 4000 replies back! That is pretty hard for any politician to ignore and they do so at their peril! That produced a list of 47 separate suggestions for development at the Park but way out in front was a call for some sort of sports facility. Those suggestions are being worked on now and some should be in place pretty soon! The more ambitious ones like sports centre etc. need a lot of working on to progress but that is being done too, it just takes longer. That is not to say we will get a major development there because there is a huge mountain of obstacles to get over, not least all types of funding disappearing, a decent road access into the site and the need for a proper ground survey to test soil and land conditions. I can say a master plan is being developed for the Park. The Development Trust have and are pushing this as fast and as far as it can go, in all sorts of directions!

  11. Happy Birthday..............
  12. If you have that sort of dosh kicking around Pete I know where there are some garden gates which need a bit of TLC..............
  13. Looks like their are appealing on the grounds of incompetence by the planners to give ample considerations to their application? According to the article that necessitates a public enquiry?
  14. Circa £200K.......
  15. Couldn't agree more Pete!
  16. Not long now.................
  17. Yep same place Pete. Developers are saying they will restore the gates as part of their 106 planning gain requirement. Seems there is a difference of opinion on what they are promising to pay for, infrastructural improvements, with planners saying even if they sold everything they couldn't pay what has been promised? I believe the residents are trying to find funds to pay for the gates. I stepped away when I was told the gates have to go back where they came from. I have no interest in knocking myself out fighting to get these gates put up on the side of a private housing development for aesthetic reasons! Had we been able to display them in the centre of the Town or even use them as a feature on one of the roadways in, then I would have been trying to crack heads together! Putting them back on a none existent road is a joke!
