I must say if i am elected to West Bedlington Town Council i will try my best to get the best service for least amount of money, I will not back out of that pledge. Unlike political parties who make pledges then break them when they get in power.- 70 replies

I contacted HSBC about when they announced that they were closing the Bedlington Branch asking why they were closing it and got a phone call a few days later and got told there was not a large foot fall though the door and it was not value for money, yet at the time the were making a profit of something stupid like £2 billion I thought it must not be eating away at profits that much but they closed it all the same and I am still angry at them for doing it.

Local Town/parish Elections - 2 May 2013

I was talking about a debate in a public place with the public asking the candidates questions and the candidates answering (a bit like question time.) However as you said most candidates would likely not like to debate in case they got in an argument or looked like fools or both, I don't think names need to be mentioned. I would also like to say good luck to everyone in the running.- 70 replies

You could still could have "highjacked the meeting/never stopped talking about it" If you had wanted to, Also i would have had a debate with you and the other candidates however none of you asked for it so why do it if only the three independent candidates are doing it?- 70 replies

I apologies for getting the facts wrong I thought you abstained, saying that all the town council chairman/Mayor asked was for those in favor which is wrong of them to do. However throughout the town councils life you could have made it very hard for the other Councillors. Also if we remember a Conservative Party leaflet delivered to residents said that the YOU as the Conservative Party Candidate were doing so much for the Ridge Farm Allotments (which is the incorrect name to start with, it is Ridge Terrace Allotments) and that the allotments all looked/were in a derelict state, which only one was which had a photo taken of it and under says "We deserve better then this" and says also "I am doing my best to ensure that the town council fulfills its duty to allotment holders." Yet whenever allotments where raised nothing was said from any Councillor only silent gestures (shaking your head) from you towards the public, You never spoke up and only wanted to take the credit for what the allotment holders and the allotment association did to get votes that is not right and you were shot down for it by the secretary of the Ridge Terrace allotment association at a meeting in front of the public.- 70 replies

Local Town/parish Elections - 2 May 2013

NO SINGLE PARTY RUNNING IT ! There should be no party politics in a parish/town council. It should be run by the people (who live in West Bedlington) for the people (of West Bedlington), which it will be if i and the other independent candidates have any say in the matter/get elected. Under the parish council you were part of we saw 3 Councillors who lived in Bedlington Station making decisions that did not affect them (3 years of precept increases) voted for 8 in favor, 1 abstain or in 2 over meetings 7 in favor, 1 abstain because 1 Councillor was missing from both precept meetings and worst of all no member of the public in the precept meeting was allowed to speak if you spoke the chairman/Mayor would threaten to suspend the meeting, how can that conduct be answered for?- 70 replies

What needs to be remembered is the people who lost their lives thanks to Thatcher, my dad knew a few blokes who after the pits shut could not live with themselves because the pit was all they knew and they ended up killing themselves, I am sure many others will also know people who have done that from many other walks of life.

All I have to say is she will not be missed in my household, as thanks to her and her cronies (Michael Heseltine and Ian Macgregor) my family lost their jobs and i could not get a job in the field I wanted to. Also well said: http://news.uk.msn.c...ath-a-great-day

Well if anything does happen, the developer (no sure if it is Barry Elliot anymore) will be in very hot water with the owners of the buildings surrounding the site.
