  1. I agree its not a bad one, But don't encourage him Malcolm! We have enough Bad jokes from Councillor Keith.
  2. Has this not happened before? A little thing called Ellington Colliery? UK Coal got "loans" off the then Labour Government to safeguard jobs at Ellington and other deep mines owned by UK Coal then the Government said no more money for you and Ellington closed. Along with a few other deep mines owned by UK Coal i think.
  3. Welcome to the Forum Eggy hope you enjoy it here.
  4. Happy Birthday Micky Have a Good one.
  5. Thank you everyone for your kind words and a special thank you for all of those who voted for me I thank you so much and hope to be a good town Councillor.
  6. I must say if i am elected to West Bedlington Town Council i will try my best to get the best service for least amount of money, I will not back out of that pledge. Unlike political parties who make pledges then break them when they get in power.
  7. Welcome Reedy hope you enjoy yourself here.
  8. And he tells awful jokes as well Keith.
  9. In addition to that Malcolm the addresses are never noted down they once asked me to send a sealed written reply to a member of the public, who i knew.
  10. I contacted HSBC about when they announced that they were closing the Bedlington Branch asking why they were closing it and got a phone call a few days later and got told there was not a large foot fall though the door and it was not value for money, yet at the time the were making a profit of something stupid like £2 billion I thought it must not be eating away at profits that much but they closed it all the same and I am still angry at them for doing it.
  11. I was talking about a debate in a public place with the public asking the candidates questions and the candidates answering (a bit like question time.) However as you said most candidates would likely not like to debate in case they got in an argument or looked like fools or both, I don't think names need to be mentioned. I would also like to say good luck to everyone in the running.
  12. You could still could have "highjacked the meeting/never stopped talking about it" If you had wanted to, Also i would have had a debate with you and the other candidates however none of you asked for it so why do it if only the three independent candidates are doing it?
  13. I apologies for getting the facts wrong I thought you abstained, saying that all the town council chairman/Mayor asked was for those in favor which is wrong of them to do. However throughout the town councils life you could have made it very hard for the other Councillors. Also if we remember a Conservative Party leaflet delivered to residents said that the YOU as the Conservative Party Candidate were doing so much for the Ridge Farm Allotments (which is the incorrect name to start with, it is Ridge Terrace Allotments) and that the allotments all looked/were in a derelict state, which only one was which had a photo taken of it and under says "We deserve better then this" and says also "I am doing my best to ensure that the town council fulfills its duty to allotment holders." Yet whenever allotments where raised nothing was said from any Councillor only silent gestures (shaking your head) from you towards the public, You never spoke up and only wanted to take the credit for what the allotment holders and the allotment association did to get votes that is not right and you were shot down for it by the secretary of the Ridge Terrace allotment association at a meeting in front of the public.
  14. Just a lucky guess Keith, now whats the prize I wonder?
  15. Beatles Songs?
  16. NO SINGLE PARTY RUNNING IT ! There should be no party politics in a parish/town council. It should be run by the people (who live in West Bedlington) for the people (of West Bedlington), which it will be if i and the other independent candidates have any say in the matter/get elected. Under the parish council you were part of we saw 3 Councillors who lived in Bedlington Station making decisions that did not affect them (3 years of precept increases) voted for 8 in favor, 1 abstain or in 2 over meetings 7 in favor, 1 abstain because 1 Councillor was missing from both precept meetings and worst of all no member of the public in the precept meeting was allowed to speak if you spoke the chairman/Mayor would threaten to suspend the meeting, how can that conduct be answered for?
  17. Well Bill that is one thing i will try and convince NCC to invest in Bedlington if i get on the Town Council, so you all know to vote for me on the 2nd May if you live in Bedlington West Ward.
  18. Looks like we may be at risk of losing our last Bank on the front street. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22276082
