Miner's Memorial For Bedlington
The only reason I started a new thread was because I thought people had not seen it in the old one.

It is still listed as to let so looks like the owners are still waiting for someone to rent it off them, i hope it does not get turned into housing. Bedlington has too many houses and not enough businesses we need more businesses not houses.

Miner's Memorial For Bedlington
This is why we need a working group on it.( People who want to see it like me) I would not think the county council could/would refuse it as it is a memorial and new planning regs may mean it does not need planning permission only thing you would need is permission off the council for it to be erected on council land. But the first thing we need is a group made up so we can speak about design, location, funding, etc.

Miner's Memorial For Bedlington
Hello everyone, As you all know I have pushed the Town Council about a Miner's Memorial for Bedlington due to the public (most of you on this website) asking for one and here is the update: West Bedlington Town Council support a Miner's Memorial however due to other commitments and precept the town council will not organize or supply/pay for one. So what happens now? If anyone would like to start a working group to look at providing a Miners Memorial for Bedlington, please PM me and we can look at starting one up and getting things going. (Note: This is and will not be political!) The miners and pits should be remembered for what they did for this country.

Norton is one of the worst Anti Virus programs going, lets in loads of viruses, spyware, etc. Had it on my first computer then changed the anti virus because Norton was a bit more dear then the others and bought Kaspersky and ran it on the computer picked up something like 2 Viruses, 4 Trojans and 175 spyware. After that I thought never going to get Norton Again.

Miners Killed In Bedlington Pits
We will have to just wait till 2 weeks time to see if the Town Council would support a miners memorial. But good for remembering those from Ellington Colliery and the pit itself.

Miners Killed In Bedlington Pits
I would say every area should have a memorial to miners who worked and died down the pits not just places in South East Northumberland but those in Yorkshire, Scotland, Wales, etc. As coal miners deserve the same recognition and thanks as members of the armed forces get every year on the 11th November, because if it had not been thanks to coal miners we would never have had the industrial revolution we would have also lost either or both World War's as they provided the fuel for the county in it times of need.

Miners Killed In Bedlington Pits
I have raised this with the town council and the town council is to be asked at the next full meeting if it supports the idea of a miners memorial.
