If granted these houses will set a president for more to be built within the Country Park. The access road appears to be falling away down the bank to Humford. Who will repair this after all the site traffic?

Reference the pictures in my previous post. In the past it seems the area of the school had been investigated for any historical connection. They found nothing ! Who paid them to find nothing? Maybe they were independent, however this is the golden opportunity. The history is in those stones and possibly at a much lower level than we think. The level of the road could well be an indicator of exactly where things could be found. The huge quantity of stones they are removing could indicate what happened in the past. That would possibly mean a lower level investigation would prove useful to our history. I believe this was the site for the Bishops Palace. I know others think it was the old hall.

I hope Bedlington is remembered in any celebration near or far. Our glorious past becomes our future. A town with so much history to celebrate.

What to keep and what to bin? I feel some of these belong in Beamish.

Once again Eggy your research is excellent.

This is a very sensitive site for Bedlington. Any devopment that requires 'digging down' could unearth our history. Hopefully if anything is found it is not destroyed. A CCTV camera would be a good idea.

The house on the higher level at Humford extended their Boundry wall by simply moving all the stones. This meant that where people used to park they could not park anymore. Why should this be an issue? Well an old relative who knew the area well was outraged that public highway land could simply be taken over. My questions would be who owns the land and are there any public access issues. If we all go and enclose a piece of land can we then claim ownership!

In a politically correct World it's good to have someone speaking out. However some of our local politicians are very quick to claim things are unfair. Present company accepted. A meeting where any opposition is silenced because a claim of slander can be made is not a good way of doing things. 'Working your Ticket ' is a local tradition. Now, today is Saint George's Day and within a topic called Saint Cuthbert's School. Anyone wanting to 'Work their Ticket' welcome.

We regularly go to Edinburgh for the Fringe. Now Bedlington has first rate comedians coming to our town. Ok some content may not be approved in ,so called, higher circles but we all need to laugh. Last week despite an important Newcastle Match the numbers at the Punch Drunk Comedy in the Netherton Club were impressive. Some people attending came from Otterburn. It was excellent and in our little town. Well done to Kai Humphries our own local comedian

Monday 7:30 Coffin Chapel , the speaker this month is Malcolm Grady, who is an entertaining and knowledgable speaker. Victorian Gossip is the topic . It must be better than all the gossip about today's issues. So stop worrying about Bedlington for one evening and see how our ancestors dealt with life.

I used to be indecisive and now I am not sure.

This weeks article is on page nine. It seems Ian Lavery may be quizzed on Tax. Also in the article it says that the Office of David Cockburn the trade unions certification officer has taken the first step towards a formal inquiry into Lavery's running of the NUM with an ' initial assessment' of complaints against him. So many questions . So few answers.
