Just wondering where we can find a list of the top 'green point' posters on the Forum. Otherwise we have to go to each individual profile ! No chance of anyone catching up with the 'Top' list of names. Still I only realised we had the option to give someone a point or a Star a month ago. Great fun to be had by all it seems. Just as long as you understand the system.

Aye we are 'mining' the depths here. Certainly producing more than 'black gold'. Much more than 'The Pits'. We could try reverse psychology ! Don't come unless you like History Heritage and a Hearty Welcome! Besides that it is 'The Pits'.

Musical Movement now there is a whole new subject. Performing at Alnwick Castle in our long navy knickers. Phew ! no one appears to have the evidence.

Maybe these teachers were from another school that Millbank attended. I can remember being in trouble with our teachers at Netherton Colliery and The Village. However the lasting memory is that these teachers and the school made my early learning experience safe, valid and enjoyable. I think we were shaped by our experiences in school to become good citizens.

Well done WBTC. Keep up the good work. All political parties working in harmony and no one person or group going for glory.

I always wonder what would happen if the satellites fail and we loose that (perhaps) vital asset to modern life. Telstar and beyond then the connection is gone gone gone. It could happen.

I wonder if this initiative stems from all they have done in Tynemouth. The project that was started before the anniversary (100years) of the start of the First World War has thrown up lots of interest and amazing stories. On this Forum we have stories of interest ref The First World War. Our cemetery has War Graves. It would be very interesting to find a local story to celebrate. A project for everyone particularly schools in the area. Someone has to have family who either fought and left Bedlington after the War, or emigrated before and became involved in fighting. The radio 4 programme 'Home Front' could also have been instrumental in starting a search for stories.

Great ideas. Humour ,genius and inventive ideas for T shirts. True to Bedlington. The only way is up. Bedlington must have a brilliant future.

Good luck Foxy. I hope you have success in your request for a street free from danger.

Remembering what happened is of huge importance. We all need to make sure this type of 'horror' never happens again . 'No man is an Island' humanity is respecting other people regardless of race or creed Sadly sometimes 'Satan' comes as a man of peace.

For years here we had a programme called 'Shameless'. An interesting 'SPIN' on our culture or lack of it. The programme started the careers of a lot of now famous actors and actresses.

Songs of Separation is a collection of music out on cd 29th of this month. It set me thinking about 'The Wife of Ushers Well' and other traditional songs. i wonder what others think about living in exotic locations far from home. The Highland Clearances and many of our ancestors left these shores for a new life. My own ancestors are include in a clan 'Moffet ' (lots of different spellings ) in the States. Maybe they missed home maybe not. The film 'How to make an American Quilt' is all about a Black American tradition of making a quilt that belongs in your future but signifies your past. Photographs are our past taken with us into the future but there is so much more. i remember singing 'Water of Tyne' at school a tragic tale of not being able to simply cross the river.

On the subject of alcohol yesterday evening was Burns Night. Maybe there could be the odd whiskey chaser. Plus a quote or two from Burns remembering that the 'Plans of Mice and Men often go wrong'. Basically 'Gan Canny ' and don't get a 'hangover' You could always have Haggis Neeps and Tattes. My guess it's too hot. (Jealous) Have a great time regardless.

No Brett this was simply a young lad playing internet games with his mates in his home town. Sadly one person joined the group and groomed Breck. His mother realised things were not what they seemed. Even the police could not / did not help and the lad lost his life. Murder Games is on television tonight BBC3 at 9 o clock. Anyone with children grandchildren needs to watch.

Spin and counter Spin. The truth maybe in there somewhere. As you have taught us 3G, always read both sides of the argument. Politics is truly 'A State of War'. Claim and counter claim. Each party claiming they are right and everyone else is simply wrong.

This thread makes great reading. A humanitarian response to suffering. Help where help is needed and friendship is the result.

More history to be proud of in Bedlington. Waggonways, viaducts , railways , Bedlington has it all. 2,000 years of being important. That is our towns unique selling point.
-
Maybe we all need to read between the lines of these press headlines! No one gains by blaming one group of people. The devil maybe in the detail but we should always keep an open mind.
-
Have a great celebration with your friends and family.

I wonder if they are interested in dealing with the problems. Hong Kong is a long way from our town and maybe flooding is low on their list of priorities.

We are a long way from 'Hartley Pans for sailors, Bedlington for Nailers' Maybe that was the slogan that got people here to buy , much needed, nails. Now we have History , Heritage and so much more. There has to be a simple effective slogan. One concern has to be that, when we get people into the town, we need the simple things. Parking ,public conveniences not to mention the odd shop or two in the well named 'Market Place'. Sadly five years of planning and development may be too long to wait.

A boy in Caterham was murdered by a person he met on an Internet forum. (Game) The Guardian today have an article about how he was 'Groomed' on line. (Family Section) Next week the BBC are running a documentary called Murder Games, about what happened. Maybe our children and grandchildren need to be aware of the dangers. We all think we are aware and safe but things are sometimes not what they seem on line. Present company accepted.

The Venacular Architecture Group together with the Lottery Funding Group identified the building that was 'FancyThat' as Daniel Gooch's school.( in his early days). The group measured the building and I guess must have produced a report. Other building were also looked at and into. A report must be available .

If houses are to be built on our car parks, what happens to all the people parking for the Courthouse and associated businesses . Regeneration will bring many more people to our town. It would be a shame if the parking becomes critical and people then do not come along to support the planned buisnesses.

Recently I noticed the slogan 'Keep Calm and AMBLE on ' Maybe thinking of a slogan would be a good start for us with regeneration. Newcastle scored pints with Passionate People Passionate Places. I wonder what we in or connected with Bedlington could come up with !
