  1. Yep I read many papers. Old school I guess. Yesterday's Guardian included an article on what Robson Green believes to be his family values. His uncle has different political views to him but he still respects him and remembers many family political arguments. Maybe worth remembering on this site.
  2. Cutting edge humour threegee. Basically 'you cannot be serious'
  3. Surely the 'Daily Obscurer or the Daily Chloroform'.
  4. Not sure what the answer is threegee. All political parties are up to the same tricks. Hence 'Spin and counter Spin'. Money and power are always going to attract a certain type of person.
  5. That is a real horror story Canny Lass. There are some evil people in the World. I hope this character who lives by the sword /laser dies by the sword /laser.
  6. Happy Birthday mercuryg . Have a great year youngun.
  7. The problem is Canny Lass that the empathy factor has in some cases been lost in certain humans. Mans inhumanity to man.
  8. Great picture. I find myself scanning for familiar faces in our generation. Bedlington Families you have met along life's way.
  9. Canny Lass the dreaded Big Brother lot have been reading and trying out these experiments. Or so I have heard! Well ok I have watched them on the odd occasion!
  10. The monkeys could try distraction. That is :- look or go over there then quickly get the bananas. Okay at first there is the cold water but 'if at first you don't suceed try try again '. Get all the monkeys working out on the ladder together.
  11. The new 'like ' button and points do not seem to correspond to the weeks overall score totals. The people pressing like appear to not always show up then the totals change. It is not a problem either way. Just interesting dynamics of a competition I have not intentionally entered into !
  12. There should be an award for research into local history. Well done eggy. Our town deserves National Recognition. A healthy place to live with history and heritage . I love the 'swathes of daffodils and floral displays' Bedlington in Bloom. Also good pictures of the here and now
  13. Good to know that our History is being noted . Maybe a little note about why this name is being used would help. Thanks Eggy.
  14. The young people who spoke at the meeting at the Community did a great job Malcolm. Their presentation and ideas were sensible and they did not forget to praise Bedlington and celebrate what is already here . When faced with delays to a skateboard park that was promised they were positive and showed all the adults how things could be done. Maybe keeping them informed about developments would help. After all by the time the NCC develop the Market Place many of these young people will have left for further education. They were challenged on where they spend their money. They answered truthfully . One young person started by saying something is better than nothing. A truly simple statement that holds a universal truth for us all
  15. Right so Canny Lass says the paper is the journal and she will see us in The Lion at eight o clock
  16. See you in the Red Lion Canny Lass Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday night. Let us know the night and time. Possibly Tuesday!

    WBTC Youth Voice.

A great picture. No mention of a political party people working together with the next generation citizens.

    Bedlington Jobs Fair

That is very sad. Think not of what your town can do for you , think what you can do for your town. In that case there should not be so many photocalls that aim to promote a party rather than what has been done for the town. i sincerely thought things were changing now we have a town champion.
  19. Interesting reply 3G. Not sure it is relevant to this book on life by the author of Wallander.. Maybe the offending word is Guardian. Looking at life has always been an issue when you reach a certain age or stage of decay. Utopia has always been controversial . We all maybe find that there is 'No Place ' like home. With or without a statue for controversy .
  20. Thank You i did like the list on the old site where you could see all. it is not a problem either way.
  21. A nods as good as a wink to a blind bat' maybe.
  22. Quicksand What it means to be a human being by Henning Mankell is published on the 4th February. Today in the guardian there is an article with some of his ideas on mortality , moments of intense fear, hope and happiness. Because we have been talking about our schooldays and the past , the article seems significant He says 'Children are extremely serious creatures. Not least when they reach the age when they slowly take the step that changes them into conscious human beings - conscious of the fact that they have an identity that cannot be changed. Over the years what one looks like in a mirror changes, but behind that mirror image is always the real you. ' My thought is that Bedlington helped produce the people we have become. For Canny Lass / in the article he talks about Gothenburg , Vallakra, Landskrona Varberg Laholm and Kungsbacka. This guy who died of cancer last autumn wrote Wallander.
  23. Just wondering where we can find a list of the top 'green point' posters on the Forum. Otherwise we have to go to each individual profile ! No chance of anyone catching up with the 'Top' list of names. Still I only realised we had the option to give someone a point or a Star a month ago. Great fun to be had by all it seems. Just as long as you understand the system.
