  1. Cheers @Newbedders - are you getting a current view/still photo or a live stream? I will have to have a 'clart aboot' and see what I can do
  2. @Andy Millne - tried the webcam over the last few days and still no joy via my new PC = Windows 10 & Google Chrome and on my old PC - Windows Vista & Google Chrome ( can't remember when last updated but probably two years ago) I do get a view, not live streaming but it can be refreshed to get an updated view. Before I start clarting - is the Live streaming up and running? ☯️
  3. Xmas 2019 - photo from Simon Williams :-
  4. There you go, women - multitasking again. I only have one thing on my mind = All the best CL.
  5. @Dshort94 - was the Westridge school photo - Westridge - Intake - Year 1957-58, with a Dave Short named what you are looking for
  6. @HIGH PIT WILMA & @Maggie/915 - not that I have ever deleved into the history of St Cuthbert's but over the years I have Googled and turned up a few references and all the info I have seen has St Cuthberts s c12 centuary eg :- https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1153497 https://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=50566 This is the front page of the document https://cofenewcastle.contentfiles.net/media/documents/document/2019/01/Bedlington_St_Cuthbert_-_January_2015.pdf
  7. @Rigger & @Dshort94- forgot about that one. We have it in the Gallery under the Album - Local Football 2 as the 1963-64 season :-
  8. @Dshort94 - the only other photo I have seen with a Bob Short named is a 1957-58 Westridge school photo. The photo with names is filed in the Galley under :-
  9. @minitoonmook:- as I haven't lived in Bedlington for years now I am not up to date with the retail wharehouse etc. in the area. The only two I know of are in East Sleekburn, A J Wholesale and Seaton Delaval, Laidlers but I have never been to A J Wholesale so no idea what, if anything, they sell to the general pubic. Laidlers do distribute throughout the area but I know my wife used to call into their premises on Double Row, Seaton Delaval to buy fruit & veg but hasn't used them for a couple of years. The last one I heard of in Bedlington was TJ Fruiters, Front Street West, but think they are closed now
  10. @Bedlingtonian - that was probably @threegee - but he hasn't posted for anything for almost 6 months
  11. @Vic Patterson :- and Ian Lavery's result :- https://www.northumberlandgazette.co.uk/news/politics/general-election-2019-labour-party-chairman-ian-lavery-survives-recount-retain-his-wansbeck-seat-1340129
  12. @Vic Patterson - if you haven't already seen it, check this out :- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50767123
  13. When we had the heavy snow fall and I was confined to the house, January 2010, I did a bit of family research within FreeBMD. To pass a few more hours I joined as a transcriber and and transcribed a few B, M & D registra sheets to be uploaded to the BMD Database. So when your using the site just remember one of the records you find might be one of the 55,331 I did
  14. I am told it was around 1973 when the footbridge was removed. Never seen any photos of it being demolished.
  15. @Steve D - if you haven't already viewed it the http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/sites.shtml has quite a few images of the station http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/b/bedlington/index.shtml - but none from the front. However there are still a couple of images showing the front and Google Street view is also a good way of having a look :-
  16. Don't know of any of my relatives that have been diagnosed with dementia but I see the local care homes say there have expert care for people with dementia : - Barchester Meadow Park Care Home Choppington Road, Bedlington NE22 6LA https://www.carehome.co.uk/carehome.cfm/searchazref/10004525MEAB Hartford Court Care Home Cumbrian Road, Cramlington NE23 1DA https://www.carehome.co.uk/carehome.cfm/searchazref/70331
  17. @Bedlingtonian - I know Freecycle exists but not aware of a local, or even Northumberland, branch/online site. My daughter, when she lived in London (staying there after she finished uni in 2001), used to use the Camden (Hampstead) site a lot.
  18. @Jr6468 I remember those places well - it was January 1969 when I first left Bedlington, for London. Leaving behind The Prince of Wales & The Wallaw (had already closed as a cinema) - The Clayton Ballroom & Skating - The Domino - Humford open air swimming baths (think it was already closed or on the verge of closing by then) - the YMCA & Moscadinni's (for the Station teenagers, Bacci's for the Top End teenagers) etc.
  19. Unfortunately it's trying to convince the younger generations what should be kept. People of my age, 70+, have totally different ideas to the younger generations and it's getting the younger generations involved in what's on the front street and not what's on-line

  21. Ex Bates deputy, George Henderson, Judo 3rd Dan and NUFC fan died yesterday morning aged 82. The NUFC photo is from 2017. I think the judo photo is late 60's early 70's and George is the one being thrown.
  22. Hello Brian - if it wasn't for the www we would all be sitting staring at walls, and hospital walls are boring! Just spent 12 days in one of hours, nowt serious, but the cost of the TV makes ya blood boil. The new A&E, at Cramlington , has free TV for the standard channels - BBC - ITV etc but when you repaired ans ready for recovery they discharge you to other hospitals where the TV is £9.60 per day, for 15 channels, + extra for films and Sky sports 😲. I didn't pay, just talked to the rest of those recovering. No snow in the NE, yet🙂 All the best to you and your family.
  23. @Leah - you may have noticed many posts about bates Colliery from @HIGH PIT WILMA. Normally Highpit Wilma is on ths group weekly but I see he hasn't visited since the 24th on November but I am sure when he does, and if he knows your granda he will update you. There is a Facebook group - Friends Of Bates Colliery - where there are a few ex Bates Colliery workers that occasionally add photos and we share many photos between the two groups. The facebook group is a 'Closed' group so you would have to join if you wanted to browse through the photos on that group. This is a link to that group :- https://www.facebook.com/groups/batescolliery/ There is also a Bates Colliery Photo Album within the Gallery on this group. The album is under Galley>Places Gallery>Bates Pit by High Pit Wilma - this is a link to the album :-
