@jim l - unfortunately I can't help you with the where about's of Ivan McBride but I could give you telephone numbers for the Bedlington Care Homes.
Do you still live in Bedlington? Have you got access to the contact telephone numbers of the care homes in Bedlington?

Hello Jammy, I've never been a Bedlington resident and just came across your site by accident today.
@ShaunLI haven't seen a comment from @Jammy for a while so I checked (by clicking on the members ID Tag) and his profile has the '8th April 2020' as the last time he logged onto this group. I've 'Tagged' him by preceding his name tag with an'@' but I don't know if he has his account set to received a notification when Tagged.

@PaulJ - this is not the Scroll of Honours board but it is a link to a project created by @Rigger. Rigger did research on all those that lived in Bedlington and were killed in WWI.
This is a link to the full document published by Rigger :-

@Rigger & @Maggie/915 - have either of you herd of the 'Scroll of Honour' for WWI ?
-
@PaulJ - I Googled the Bedlington Community Centre to find out their contact details and info on their activities etc. that they used to have on on a web site but all attempts to link to that site failed so I don't know if they have closed it down and now use Facebook as their main source of contact and info.
This is a screen shot of their Facebook page :-

Hi,
Doing some research on family history and the topic of the "Scroll of Honour" from WW1 came. Apparently it was displayed in the Institute so does anyone know where it is now?
@PaulJ - I can't remember anyone discussing a 'Scroll of Honour' on this group.
I do remember a topic - WW1 Private James Bonner Archbold - was raised under the History Hollow section by @Harry and some comments were posted about the WWI Poppy Map that was created and researched by staff at the Bedlington Community Centre.
I do not know it that Poppy Map has any link to a Scroll of Hounor.
This is a direct link to the topic WW1 Private James Bonner Archbold :-

Thank you for putting up with it for two years! If we get locked in again, which i suspect is possible, you may have to put up with it again.
Thank you CL - now enjoy the holiday - light nights - garden and whatever else comes your way during your release from lockdown

Toon 2 Leicester 1
3 of our children + 1 in-law + 1 grandson + 2 great grandsons present during the game I was watching, and naturally tearing myself away from it to discuss what Pokermon levels and creatures/animals/strange named beasts had been found. The OH didn't help by continually walking in front of me with hot drinks and lumps of her vegan cakes.
Naturally I was more interested in Pokermon - watched the last 30mins on the recorded match at lunch time today.

I was wondering if that was the door Symptoms was referring to. I thought that the priests lived to the west of the RC church but I could be wrong. I don't know much about Catholic Row - but would like to. It has a little niche in my research.
As I said earlier, I was at one wedding there and as a Girl Guide I was once in the catholic school at some joint event in the very early 60s. It lay behind the church away from the road. I'm wondering if the photo of the two priests is taken in front of the school? The gate to the left suggests it might be. I have two photos taken in front of the church and both show it as stone-built.
@Symptoms kind sir, could you give us any description of the church (outside) or the street itself at the time of your 'fruit picking'? It would be a great help.
@Canny lass & @Symptoms - this as far West on Catholic Row I can get with Google street view.

Much as I hope you're right, I interpreted the comments about amending the plans as fine tuning rather than a total rethink, and given that Ashington's new leisure centre cost double what the whole project for Bedlington is costing I doubt that Arch/the council will be able to squeeze it in.
Can't help you there @_pauls - it's just what @Malcolm Robinson had posted on his FB page.
