Thank you, the wife uses Facebook so I'll ask her to take a look. I'm sure he worked at Bates Colliery in the 80's, perhaps early 90's then went to Ellington Colliery after that. If other's worked there at the same time, then they would probably know each other.
Damian.
@Damian Robson = any luck identifying the artist?
I could ask around the local FB groups as there are ex miners on the groups. That would mean posting one of the drawings you have posted above. the groups I would check on would be Bygone Bedlington, Bates & Northumberland and Durham Pits.
@HIGH PIT WILMA was at Bates until it closed in 1986.
Was your dad from Bedlington?

Bedlington Residents: Important Update on Town Centre Improvement Proposals
The future development of your local area is being planned, and community feedback is essential to ensuring these decisions reflect the needs of residents.
This Thursday, 11th June 2026, a public drop-in event will be held to present Bedlington’s Borderlands Town Investment Plan and potential town centre improvements for both East and West Bedlington.
Representatives will be on hand to discuss the proposals and take your feedback. Two sessions are available, and the same information will be presented at both:
Session 1: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Location: Bedlington Community Centre, 60 W End Front St, Bedlington, NE22 5TT
Session 2: 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Location: East Bedlington Community Centre, 16 & 17 Station St, Bedlington, NE22 7JN
Can't make it in person?
If you are unable to attend either session, you can still participate. The display boards and an online feedback portal will be accessible from 11th to 27th June. You can scan the QR code on the event poster to review the plans and submit your comments.
This is a critical opportunity to directly influence the investment and regeneration of your community. Please consider dropping in to ensure your voice is heard

@Nicola Riley in your opening comment you mention Fountains Yard. Fountains Yard was asked about on the Facebook group Bygone Bedlington and as i had never of that yard I posted a comment in the Discussion/History Hollow section of this group and @Canny lass identified where it had been.
The entry in - Discussion/History Hollow - is titled :- Fountain(s) Yard - Glebe Row/Road/Bank and was posted in 2019. It's under Page 5 of the History Hollow section.

@Appleby - there is another album under the Gallery/Historic Bedlington section - Netherton/Nedderton old photos 2 - and there a number of school photos for Netherton Colliery & Nedderton Village and the name Appleby has been added on a few of the photos. This is a direct link to that album :-
-
Welcome to the site @Appleby
There are a few postings where the rows and families of netherton Colliery get a mention and the best way to view them is by using the - Search - facility at the top right hand of the 'Discussion' screen.
If you enter the word Appleby in the box and enter that youu will get a ling to any comment that has used that word.
If you wanted to search for a phrase like Clifton Row then add quotation marks either side of the phrase - "Clifton Row"
There have been a few members who were raised in netherton Colliery but I think theren is only one member from the area that still regularily visits and helps the members of this site and that is @Canny lass.
In the gallery section there are albums on various subjects and there are some on Netherton & Nedderton. When you select the gallery section from the menu at the top of the page you scroll down to the Historic bedlington section, select that then there are 4 pages of albums.
When you select an album you can click on any photo/image within the album and you will see any comments that have been made in respect of image. This is a direct link to one of the albums :-

Mark, had no reply yet. Did you source what you need elsewhere?
@Dave Cordes - if you whish to tag a member so that they are notified then you can use the @ before the members name. The tag only works when you start with the @ followed by the members name and selecting the full name from the list that the system throws up eg @M and the system will give the names and then you select the name you want :-
@M
and you will get @Mark J
