  1. I think he did well to hit the hole, if it hadn't of been for that one bit of railing at the bottom of the steps he would have been away and out down the path to the exit at Carlisle Park

  3. Would the History Society be interested in a stall at this years Bedlington Picnic - June 30th. Vic Thompson on Facebook posted a comment '.... Vic Thompson There’s always a space for a historical stall or talk if you know of anyone who would fancy it 😉' https://www.facebook.com/bedlingtonpicnic/?hc_ref=ART8yGDaVpfAODmgY-mUngcqkUrRL4k3TqB4HEfr3RIzz6B0dxdeg8Lv79eI3TiyyoA&fref=nf&hc_location=grouphttps://www.facebook.com/bedlingtonpicnic/https://www.facebook.com/bedlingtonpicnic/?hc_ref=ART8yGDaVpfAODmgY-mUngcqkUrRL4k3TqB4HEfr3RIzz6B0dxdeg8Lv79eI3TiyyoA&fref=nf&hc_location=grouphttps://www.facebook.com/bedlingtonpicnic/?hc_ref=ARTkz8i9bsBqGrph4bK6nZs9hRlX7qIatbmumXny4XMWUQh5ez_I3fnDzmWlV_KMSuY&fref=nf&hc_location=group
  4. Bedlington Picnic - 30th June 2018 - Info posted in the 'Events' section :- Posted on Facebook by Vic Thompson :- With the snow now cleared from Attlee Park and sledging (hopefully) over until much later in the year, it’s time to look towards the summer...This year, we’re excited to announce that we’re planning the Bedlington Picnic on Saturday 30th June!As ever, the event will revolve around the talents and efforts of our local community, displaying all of the amazing things that Bedlington has to offer. This is an opportunity for our talented artists to perform to a large audience, organisations to display the great work they are doing, groups to recruit new members, fundraisers to get support... and more!If you think you would like to get involved in any way, whether it be to perform, display, sell, or help with the organisation, please get in touch! It would be great to have as many people involved as possible for 2018!We look forward to hearing from you all 😀 AAnything to add for this years event @Danielwilkinson?
  5. @Asma Begum Chowdhury- you need to be checking the 'Events' section to see what is going on - you won't find anything in the 'Gallery'

  8. I could have this totally wrong @moe19 but I my memory says my mate, Alex Third, who went to St. Bede's once introduced me (about 1965-66) to a lad nicknamed Stash, about the same age as us ( 17 in 1965) and he was built like the 'Brick Shit House', compared to us. I'm sure Alex said he was heavily into weight training - they are No 3 & 4 in the c1953 class photo in this album. No 1 added @moe19 + Teresa Nicholson, Facebook Bedlington Remembered commented :- 'Think number 9 is Terry Nicholson, number 1 Sam Kidd? Number 11 John O Neil?'
  9. until
  10. I could see it but today nowt - try again :- It's normally Easter when the when the winter greens are put to bed, Wilf will have to get some practise in soon :-

  12. No 1 Kevin H has confirmed No 20 as Margaret Reid; No 40 John Hamill (not Keith) and No 19 Connie Beaton
  13. I'll send it to my cousin, No 22, and see if she can remember 'Skin'
  14. Mr Sparrow, father of John Sparrow, Facebook Bedlington remembered group) thinks No 7 is Wendy Fox.
  15. I prefer pubs but I suppose @lesmes gets his Topic back Has anybody noticed? By lesmes, February 23 in Chat Central
  16. @moe19 - reply from Eddie was :- 'Jim and Betty had a house in Wooler next to the Tankerville arms. The also had a property in Palma Majorca where they spent most times. They had a retirement party at the Pub which we all attended. Then a young lad from Crammy surname Davy. Eric's son who was a mate of mine took over the Pub for a short time. Then he left and it was boarded up. Before it went up in flames in the early hours. I watched it from my window in Hastings Tce. Aye suspicious to say the least. This is at the retirement party .with my impression of Betty with Barmaid Pauline. ps - I suppose we should now get back to Easter Eggs
  17. Eddie Hindhaugh posted the photo, middle right, as the night before the pub closed for good but he does not give the date. He does say the pub 'accidently' caught fire and burnt down in 1992. I've added a couple more, from Eddie, to the composition. The bottom left photo shows that poster you posted @moe19 and it had three names (Sugar, Ernie & Danny) with it but there are 4 in the photo so don't know which three are named. The bottom right shows another room, I think, of the pub.
  18. and the crap hanging from the ceiling :-

  20. One of the regulars at The Albion (The Folly) was Eddie Hindhaugh and he often comments on the Sixtownships Facebook group and I remembered he had posted some photos of inside the pub. So I asked him if he could remember the name of the goat and you were right to be thinking Billy or Benny - Eddie replied with :- Billy and Benny . There was 2 Goats. And 2 German Shepherds. Joe Joe was one . The other lived outside. As a guard Dog. + there was always a load of crap hanging from the ceiling. This is a compilation of the photos from the Albion that Eddie has posted and I have added the names of who he said they were :-
