If only I had just said - yes, the bricked area is there to be used. Instead I wondered, is there info in the highway code or anywhere else that a simple Google search will reveal? Oh to be a Technical author! I believe the simple explanation is something like :- a single lane road that requires a roundabout to allow access to and from the road may require an additional lane, only on the roundabout, that allows large vehicles additional space (another lane) to turn on and off the single lane road. But if you really want to impress your fellow Friday night ale tasters with a full explanation of the Geometric Design of Roundabouts then read the 51 pages in this documnet :- http://www.standardsforhighways.co.uk/ha/standards/dmrb/vol6/section2/td1607.pdf

Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) replied to Canny lass's topic in Talk of the Town
Who would organise walking tours :- West, East, & Central Bedlington Town Council groups - Bedlington Local History Society etc.? Who would know if it had already been discussed - Malcolm Robinson - Adam Hogg - Steven Young (Town Clerk?)? -

Non Members - what topics can they see?
Alan Edgar (Eggy1948) replied to Alan Edgar (Eggy1948)'s topic in Chat Central
Contemplated doing that then thought why try and work it out, and possibly advise non members incorrectly, when admin could tell me what was built into the system and non members could see how efficient, and exact, the admin of this community site are. That's why -

Think there were extracts for the documentary - Geordies Overboard - on youtube but can't find a link to one that is still current. This is an extract from the http://www.northeastmaritime.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7385 posting :-

I think I have this right - Barry Elliot was the main contractor for the building. I believe he still lives in the first house in the row of houses he built at South Beach and I first heard of him when I stumbled, late one night when I was in charge of the remote, on a CH4 2 part documentary on Blyth's privately run lifeboat service. I will see if any of the documentary is online anywhere - this is a link to an article in The Journal, following the documentary :- http://www.thejournal.co.uk/news/local-news/fears-over-blyth-lifeboat-future-4400695

@Andy Millne - before the new system was introduced non members could not view all the topics. I often reference postings on this site so the Facebook Bedlington group members can visit and view this site. Is it the same now or with the sharing across different platforms can non members view all the topics?

We could have a referendum : – Boris to stand for Worse & Gove to stand for Worserer Tick one box only Worse Or Worserer Then if the outcome is worserer than first thought we could ask to pull out of Brexit and reinstate Cameron and Osborne into government and have another referendum. If that seems worserer than the worst scenario then we could get 'even worserer' and ask May and Corbyn to form a coalition government allowing Nicola Sturgeon to form a body of high-ranking carpenters, assisted by joiners, to lead on specific policy areas such as worse, or worserer Health, Transport, Defence etc. Think I might just stand for the next election, but only if it’s raining.
