My granda was killed at the Doctor Pit in April 1949 his name was Joe Curley he's photograph is on one
of your members photo album. The one with the market club football team who were about to play the top club
@Tonyp I saw your comment (on the other topic - New coal mine in Cumberland) and as I am often on the Durham Mining Museum (DMM) site I checked the list of Names of those killed at this colliery and your granda, Joe Curley, is not in the list. I know the DMM is ran by volunteers and although I would expect they have access to the old colliery records it does appear that they also rely on updates from the general public.
I don't think anyone who was killed in that industry whilst doing their job should be forgotten. You should get in touch with them to update their records.
This is the link to the 'D' index of pits :- http://www.dmm.org.uk/colliery/index_d.htm

@Andy Millne - attempted to use the webcam via my new Hp Desktop PC - Windows 10 and it failed returning this image :-
So I attempted access to the site via my old Desktop PC, Windows Vista. Still logged in on the new system I had to sign-in again on the old system, and he webcam returned the image immediately. So I had both systems loaded at 19:58 but totally different results when using the webcam :-

R.I.P. Djevvy..[No 3]
Now I stared at the photo and thought I know that face, No 3. He didn't have that belly when I knew him - 1955 to 1969. JDjevvy = Brian Davidson - from Barrington.
Unfortunately Djevvy is another one no longer with us. He died last year.
This photo (also in the gallery) is the lads I went to school with but it must have been wor Den's turn to wear the shoes when this one was taken and Eric Thielman must have been ill😉

Not sure if you have seen this, Alan and Richard? but it shows Bedlington United, Bedlington and Bedlington Terriers (Northumberland Senior Cup). Was there a team called just, Bedlington in the 90s?
https://www.nufc.com/2018-19html/senior-cup-history.html
Never seen any photos with just 'Bedlington' football club on them @Pete but really I wouldn't have a clue if there was or not - Richard and @Ovalteeny are the two members that have delved into the archives of football in Bedlington. I just do the easy bits, try and enhance the photos and add text.

Another one to try and identify those in the photo @HIGH PIT WILMA.
The photo was posted by Leslie George an No 1 identified as Eddie Appleby.

Sorry I'm not able to determine at what point you're having a problem. You say
What is the address in your browser address bar when you get the error? Is "Your Internet Access is Blocked." the entire error message? Is there any further descriptive error?
Sorry Andy - didn't give a full explanation.
Using Google Chrome I simply typed - bedlington.co.uk - into the search and the result was :-
So I copied the Bookmark that I use on my old system and this was the result :-
As I said in my first comment my attempts to connect to this site is the only one that has failed out of the 50 I wanted to create.
I was going to temporarily remove the Macafee security software (months free trial) that came with the system and try again but I haven't been able to work out how to switch it off and just use Windows Defender.
As the failed attempts suggested I ran Windows Network Diagnostics & check the Firewall and Antivirus settings I did but no problems detected, or that I could see. As I had had 49 that had worked to all manner of sites that's what I would have expected.
If there is anything recorded in the bedlingto.co.uk log files I made 10 attempts to connect this morning between 11:41 & 11:43, my time.
-
@Andy Millne - I haven't thoroughly looked at this yet but thought it worth letting you know just in case it's the bedlington.co.uk platform that's causing the problem and possibly stopping potential users viewing and joining this site.
I decided it's time I added to my collection of hardware bought a new Desktop PC, even though my 12 year old Desktop PC, running Windows Vista & Google Chrome, is still performing adequately .
This comment is via my old PC.
I spent this afternoon going through my list of - shortcuts & favorites = 50, on the old PC and creating them on the new PC - Windows 10 using Google Chrome to connect to the different sites.
49 of them worked without a problem and the one that failed was my attempted connection to this group - Your Internet Access is Blocked.
My first look at - Network - BT Hub - etc etc hasn't given me anything within my system to suggest it's my outward connection that's causing the problem.
Currently on the new PC, as it comes with a months free trial, is Norton Antivirus software.
I expect to resolve this problem next week and I will let you know the cause - or if the problem just went away without me knowing what I had done.

Mostly Pigeons, but there was only a hand full of allotments there. Entrance was from the cut and they were sandwiched between the gardens of Pioneer Terrace and Waverley Avenue. I have not been past that area for a lot of years but I think they built houses or flats on that land both sides of the cut.

Yes but on the right hand side, the left hand side was allotments. Right hand side was know as Moles farm.
I'll have to scratch a bit more Pete but I think there is a faint memory lurking in the depths on my mind. The number of times I went through that cut to school - 1954 (Barrington) ; 1965 (BGS) and then to The Percy Arms (1966 to 1969) I must been in there and helped myself to some vegetable. or did they have pigs ?

Looking at google earth I think Tullys may have been no 27, but to be honest I have never heard of Wingrove House. I remember Moles farm house on Pioneer Terrace.
Now you have me scratching the old head Pete. I remember a Jimmy and Clark Mole - Waverley Avenue. Did their relation have a piece of land between Pioneer and Waverley Ave.? Half way down the cut, on the left hand side as you went down to Waverley Avenue

Could no 28 have been Tullys the dentist if not it must be pretty close?
I remember, late 1960's, a dentists on Pioneer Terrace that I have been to but no idea what number it was but I think you could be close Pete as my memory says it wasn't far down when you came through the pedestrian cut from Waverley Avenue to Pioneer Terrace.

Maybe not pure cannabis. I don't think I like the taste. I read that CBD oil has a good effect. Interestingly cannabis is addictive or not. It seems so.

@Richard Bloomfield - do you know if Bedlington Rangers FC played at the Dr Pit Welfare Park?
This is the 1979 squad, posted on Facebook by Paul Slowey, and this photo was taken at Ashington :-
-
@Lee Foster- another member, on the Facebook Bygone Bedlington group has said they currently live in Pioneer Terrace and the deeds show it as having been called Wingrove House.
I have asked this member how much further info, if any, they want to disclose and I am waiting for a reply.

Hopefully one, if not more, of the members will have some info on the area your family lived but as Vic says some dates + additional info etc would be useful
