  1. you trying to get fit like mr darn? lose that belly of yours??

    Belly? BELLY?

i'll have you know i've lost a stone and a half since you last spoke to me!

Actually, yes...i am trying to loose weight! :D:P:D

its a toss up between MissVic's rowing machine or a membership at the river at Morpeth, i hear the rowing boats there are first class!

And who said BedBay wouldnt work???

  2. Cruel unnecassary sport where animals are used for man to gain.

I both agree and disagree with the above quote:

cruel and unnesesary, yes, they do whip em hard and kick em harder, however, horses love to run, thats why the unmanned horses keep running, and dont just stop and munch the grass.

be much better if it was like the greyhounds, with no rider, or at least strap their legs to the horse and take away the whips. be much better then, cruel gits!

as for the 'man to gain' bit, i never bliddy gained a penny from betting on the nags!

  3. if you get mongs that stop ther cars at stupid places on the road like on bends then they shouldnt be on the roads at all if it was me that saw the car parked i wouldnt of swerved out of the way i would of drove straight through it just to be a !*!@# get the mongs off the road :D:D:D

Then not only are you suicidal, but its you that should not be on the road.

print off this topic and show it to any police officer, s/he will tell you i'm right.

that car has a list of possible reasons for being in that position as long as my arm. the only reason for speeding when you aint got blue lights flashing is because your an idiot with no respect for other life, human or not.

  4. Well said Mr Darn. Good luck Miss Darn, well done. Anything I can do?

Some free childcare to get her off her feet and into employment would be a bonus!

if she takes the job i think she is, she'll be working 2-3 late shifts not covered by the current schooling system....

just till she gets her feet under the rug like!

  5. I think it`s tomorrow,not sure what time though...I`ll be there! :D

The bikers have their own website setup, we have helped out this great cause for a number of years now.

The run is on Saturday 7th April 2007 and kicks off from Maggies Burn in Blyth at about midday

After passing The Windmill pub on Cowpen Road at about 1pm they'll head for the Clayton Arms in Dudley, then off to the Blake Arms in Seghill for about 2.15pm. After that is the Hastings Arms in Seaton Deleval at 3pm and we can expect them coming up the Front Street towards the Blue Bell at approx 3.30pm, finnally ending up at Fuggles on the Barrington Road at 4pm. From there its off to the Bebside Inn at 4.30.

I believe theirs an after run function at the "bottom club" afterwards (market place club) kicking off at 7.30pm

Their website is: http://www.northumberland-bikers.co.uk/ but be warned, its still under construction!

All details can be found there!

Best of luck to all of them, and i hope the weathers good for everyone involved! Ride Safe!

  6. what do you mean sensible? it is a 60 mph road until you get to the bank top! i think they should have had the decency to ether use there hazards or drive up onto the grass! there are other people using the roads too? i my view thats just shear rudeness!

so your point is because the roads MAXIMUM speed limit (for cars) is 60mph, thats the speed you should travel at?

  7. I too was a member of the last forum, some of those were good old days, some not so good :P

so i hear, is their gonna be a link to this 'old' forum? or have they been lost forever?

Miss darn seems very against the idea of this old forum becoming available, which is increacing my curiosity!

especially as i know her old nickname!

  8. I can see the logic of what you`re saying,if it was for a different situation...he wouldn`t of had time to "slow down, to a stop if neccesary, indicate his intention to overtake, then pass this obstruction when it was ....

which is exactly my point, he was going too fast for the road.

had he been going a sensible speed, taking into account stopping distances and visibility of the road ahead, no swerve would have been needed!

pleased you see my point of view tho....even if you dont agree with it :D

  9. i ask you this: what if that parked car had been a child, paralised by the thought of an oncoming vehicle traveling at speed round a bend? would your opinion still be the same?

Well i know one thing..i wouldn`t be taking your advice!

    hmmmmn, so, now i'm interested....

what would you do in this situation? you wouldn't reduce your speed? or have i picked you up wrong yet again!

Glorious weather were having today tho, trully marvelous!

  10. What! you can`t just park your car the way she did! Fair enough if she had pulled it over to the side, but she didn`t!

Someone came round a bend and nearly smashed into a parked car and as for "Road Rage" there wasn`t any! All he did was swerve out the way (he didn`t lose control he swerved on purpose, there`s a difference),what was he supposed to do? If the car had been parked at the side of the road he wouldn`t of had to swerve!

And as for vulgar remarks (if you can call it that) he made them in his own house, not at the scene, you can`t call this "Road Rage!"

I appologise, it seams i misread your post, i thought you were saying his responce was at the scene.

as for my comment on the driving, if the gentleman needed to brake hard, swerve or otherwise panicked, regardless of the bend in the road, he was driving without due care and attention. the only exception i can see to this is if the car infront suddenly braked hard to a stop, in which case he was driving too close, and was still driving without due care.

as for what he was supposed to do, may i suggest he slowed down, to a stop if neccesary, indicated his intention to overtake, then passed this obstruction when it was safe to do so. :D:P:D

i ask you this: what if that parked car had been a child, paralised by the thought of an oncoming vehicle traveling at speed round a bend? would your opinion still be the same?

the whole top and bottom of this is, the gentleman was going too fast round a bend and did not leave enough time to anticipate the obstruction. had he been going slower he would have seen the obstruction in plenty of time to slow down further and navagate safely around it. as many driving instructors now teach, you should never drive at a speed faster than the stopping distance you can clearly see ahead, if you cannot see round a bend, slow down to a speed at which you can safely stop should you need to.

there is no instance where you should need to swerve to avoid a stationary object in the road ahead.

or are you now going to add this happened right in front of him and he had no choice but to swerve?

I still think its a nice photo tho...

  11. see this topic: http://www.bedlington.co.uk/community/index.php?showtopic=492

I'm pleased to announce that Miss Darn has indeed 'Got an offer of Employment'!!!

    Congratulations!

Now its time to go to the income support people and see how much financially worse off you are being employed.

    The system today.....Sucks!

Hope you take the job hun, and show those nosey b*****s (no not b*****ds, i said b*****s, which is alot less insulting than they deserve) that a single mum CAN survive without their petty rules, handouts and their obvious glee at the way they can control your live, lovelife and future!

(nope, not even a hint of a grudge here!)

  12. Just as well the bloke from Beatty Road is such a decent sort really,he could of quite easily reported you, instead,he just called you a few names (of course,me being a Lady i couldn`t repeat such explenities)

    Hold the phone....

    reported? for what?

last time i looked in the highway code their is no law that states you cannot stop in the middle of a public road to take pictures, finnish a sneezing fit, picking up a dropped cigarette, removing the dead cat he just hit (instead of driving off(see seperate post :D )) etc.

On an urban clearway yes, but the section of road refered to, last time i drove down it, is not a clearway, therefore 'stopping' is allowed. i also did not notice the double yellow lines painted along there, which could also have made this an offence.

However, and this is my point, am i right in assuming that driving without due care and attention IS an offence? and that the modern test includes a 'hazard perception' section covering just such instances?

Their is also the question of inciting violence. i refer to the vulgar remarks lady muk refers to in her post. i believe this is commonly known as 'Road Rage'

In my opinion, if someone nearly lost control of their vehicle because a car was stopped in the middle of their lane, i would be much more concerned about the driver who lost control, rather than the driver who had stopped his vehicle for whatever reason.

But then again, i was not there, and i did not see the actual curcumstances, so i will refrain from damning someone on 3rd hand stories...

    :blink::huh::P:huh::blink:

    Good Picture tho!!!

  13. It was a dog show, which explains the dog. Hopefully there was more than one dog in attendance, because it would mean that lots of people in estate cars had decided to all come to park on the road outside the cricket club. Which would be pointless, rather like my comment has turned out be, as I've degenerated into blethering and whimsy...

so who, or what, as the case may be, won?

  14. Actually to be precise its Donna Cram, she has opened up a lingerie shop.shes going to do allsorts of ranges including a wedding range as well so I believe. I have not yet visited the outlet but no doubt I shall be a regular customer :)

  15. Any ideas on the new shop opened at the end of the front street (opposite the Dun Cow)?

I just noticed it today, and nearly stopped to read the siign in the window, but guessed that I would no doubt get more information on here :)

I believe a lass named Donna has opened up there, and apparently she's selling, well, alsorts actually!

    :huh::blink::lol::D:P:unsure:;)
