a 42 bedroom old peoples home. Whether this is residential or care home I am unsure and I can't remember the difference either. See Malcolm's post from the Bedlington Forum minutes for further information on the THI and developments in the area. http://www.bedlingto...eting-28112011/

Well it turns out that it is nigh on impossible to get any child into Whitley so the bigg'un will now be going to West End First School after February half term. Went up and had a meeting with the head teacher who was lovely and the school seems genuinely nice and friendly.

not to mention the increased traffic in certain areas throughout the front street, red lion roundabout and the entrance to said fast food restaurant. Rather than creating a fast food restaurant for the young'uns to loiter around and generally make a mess, we should be creating some space on shared or public land for people to grow their own vegetables and may be a community scheme and get the young'uns involved that way. Maybe they will learn something and prefer to eat the fruits of their labour. Pardon the pun

http://www.cannybevv..._breweries.html Also check out the Real Ale Guide site for information on surrounding areas. http://www.realaleguide.co.uk/id225.html http://www.realaleguide.co.uk/id215.html There are plenty of local breweries if you include Cumbria and Tyne & Wear. As for ciders you have to go daarn saarf for most of those may have something to do with the northern climate for fruit growing though

I think it's based on the BBC's filter.

Central heating is over rated anyway I was just talking about the last point you made last night with the other half after watching Richard Wilson - On Hold. He highlighted in the show that going to the shops is cherished by peope who can't regularly get out yet people who can get out and about neglect the opportunity to speak to someone. I remember not being able to get away with anything in the village as by the time I had made it home my mam would have already found out what I had been up to!!! And the news had generally beaten us home by word of mouth rather than a status update. I often start up conversations with strangers, maybe because i am polite and friendly, maybe because, by speaking to a stranger, you can brighten there day up a bit, maybe i am just barmy and seem to be one of these people that attracts the nutters on a bus. Probably all three I was told that I made someone smile for the first time that day (bearing in mind it was early evening) just by starting a conversation with them whilst waiting at a pedestrian crossing. It was reassuring that it had that effect. I like it and i don't think there are enough people saying good morning to each other and small talk is welcomed by alot of people, but not the kind where you send messages to each other with the '@' sign before hand or every topic has to begin with a '#' tag. /rant

Apparently it's going to be a Tesco Express and built where The Victoria & Albert is going to be. http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/news/local/pub_regulars_petition_to_stop_creation_of_supermarket_1_4135495

A woman in her forties went to a plastic surgeon for a face-lift. The surgeon told her about a new procedure called "The handle ," where a small handle is placed on the back of a woman's head and can be turned to tighten up her skin to produce the effect of a brand new face lift. Of course, the woman wanted "The handle ." Over the course of the years, the woman tightened the handle , and the effects were wonderful -- the woman remained young looking and vibrant. After fifteen years, the woman returned to the surgeon with two problems. "All these years, everything has been working just fine. I've had to turn the handle and I've always loved the results. But now I've developed two annoying problems: First, I have these terrible bags under my eyes and the handle won't get rid of them." The doctor looked at her closely and said, "Those aren't bags, those are your tits." She said, "No point asking about the beard then..........." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why Sharks Circle You Before Attacking Two great white sharks swimming in the ocean spied survivors of a sunken ship. "Follow me son" the father shark said to the son baby shark and they swam to the mass of people. "First we swim around them a few times with just the tip of our fins showing." And they did. "Well done, son! Now we swim around them a few times with all of our fins showing." And they did. "Now we eat everybody." And they did. When they were both gorged, the son asked, "Dad, why didn't we just eat them all at first? Why did we swim around and Around them?" the father replied, "Because they taste better without the !*!@# inside!"

I was sitting at work today just after 3 o'clock and I heard what sounded like the Search & Rescue helicopter landing outside the building but there was no sound of engines or rotary blades prior to this. I went out of the fire door to see if the Sea King was landing nearby but I could not see the it anywhere. I was really confused and never thought anything about it. Apparently there reports throughout Tyne & Wear and Northumberland of an earthquake feeling. According to the British Geological Society (BGS) there were reports from the media and the police regarding what people thought was an earthquake. Source - http://earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/ Also picked up by the media. Daily Mail Seems a bit strange that this is being regarded as a sonic boom from two RAF jets in the area but there were reports from such an expansive area at around the same time. Anyone else feel it?

I don't think you could get a swede anywhere as big as the leeks in the picture

Yeah he would be prosecuted for false advertising, you can't possibly emblazon the word 'Virgin' about Newcastle.
-
Yeah, but there are rumours dotting around about the take over of Northern Rock by Virgin Money and the possible naming rights of the stadium being linked with Virgin.
-
I was just about to post that second link as well Vic. Apparently there are two different sets of rules, the NVS (National Vegetable Society) & RHS (Royal Horticultural Society)

The parents probably.

Also on top of this The Leek Show can also be a pseudonym for strippers at certain clubs in the area.

Apart from the girlfriends grandad who nicked his mates show leeks for a joke and when he came round to tell him that someone had nicked his leeks he ushered him in and calmed him down with a nice pie that they had just made. No points for guessing what he was eating.
