    Big Cat

Already got my lynx cuddly toys on order and booked a stall on the market Malcolm. Also been in touch with Golf Club to organise big cat safari's
  3. Malcolm I'm not giving up, but short of getting Mr Plodd involved (which will be the last resort) I'm at that point where every avenue seems to be blocked, no pun intended.
  4. Here's a laugh for you, and a probable insight to the people running NCC. They have been employing a person to help find ways of saving money for NCC. Oooh! That's good I here you say! Well this guy is being paid ONE THOUSAND POUND a DAY and has been employed by NC COONCIL for EIGHT MONTH and is still on the payroll! You still laughing?
  5. Mr Darn, I hope this manager of yours isn't reading this thread, as I can visualise him now inserting tapes into the scanner tills 'Do you have your own bags? Would you be...................?'

    Big Cat

Nice one Malc and Pete  Feel a bit of a meerkat myself Anyway I saw him again last night and passed on your comments, can't print his reply, yes......yes....even me! He is adamant that what he and his mates saw was a big cat similar in size to a Lynx and light brown in colour. Now then we know we have no bananas oops big cats native in Britain, so if it was a big cat it must be an escapee from somewhere. So here is a picture of a Lynx. Just so you know what it looks like when it jumps oot the hedge an tries to do a dracula on ye!
  7. Told by a golf mate that early Thursday morning, while playing a four ball, they were walking down the ninth fairway, when he looked up he told his mates to stop still and look on the tenth tee box, he asked them 'Tell me I'm not seeing things' They all looked and told him 'No mate you're seeing things.' There sitting on the tee box was a big cat light brown in colour about Lynx size. Now has anyone else heard of this. My mate sounds genuine and not usually the sort for a wind up. What do you think. Can there be any truth in this? Or should I start braying like a donkey now
  8. Mr Darn, you are on overkill here. What kind of time scale do you want for the poor kids who are buried in the cemetery, or anyone else for that matter! As for the allotments, we are trying to solve the problem of entry and exit from the schools not magnify the problem! Back to the cemetery, I have family buried there, to suggest putting the allotments there is an abomination. I do not fancy digging up any of my relatives to plant a few brussel sprouts! Please do not mention moving the allotments, you never know who is reading this and we wouldn't want to give them any funny ideas Also the tier system wouldn't cut the taffic at all. You should see them parking at 11:45am to pick their kids up. No Mr Darn I think it's back to the drawing board here
  9. You know, I know and everybody else knows that it doesn't matter what we say or do, nothing will be done about! Even if there is something done you can bet it will only make the situation worse!
  10. You will find that the cooncil has some strict rules for signage on shops on the Front St. As found out by my previous employer when he wanted a new sign on the front of his shop!
  11. This just gets better, now the sods don't just hassle you to buy their sodding bags, they're now hassling you to use their bluddy scanner check outs! If I wanted to use your bluddy do away with jobs bluddy scanner checkouts would I be standing in another bluddy queue? And who, by the way, had the bright idea of those stupid 'Space here' signs? Why not put some more people on the tills instead of them pushing you out of the way in the aisles carrying twenty bags at a time! Or why not go the whole hog replace all the tills with scanners, and then see how many people use your sodding shop. At least on them I'll not be asked 'Have you got your own bags? Are you interested in a bag for life? Or do you just want free ones? End of rant
  12. Vic it's useless arguing the point with an out and out Tory. Business men and the like have never liked unions and never will, it takes the power to walk rough shod over their labour away!
  13. Mr Darn, this is the sign that is in Bennies and conforms to the highway code for public highways. If it had been a white arrow on a dark blue background then this sign is for private roads. So I conclude that the road through Bennies is a public highway and as such comes under the jurisdiction of the law! Also there are two whopping big signs on the gate posts like this And if they can't see these then they shouldn't be driving in the first place because they must be BLIND
  14. Brian, just a 'take' on Indian And no I've not heard anything about the Ridge changing, but if I do you'll be the first to know
  15. Heard that there are plans afoot to do away with the dole office, and they are going to rebuild the workhouse
  16. Listen mate av telt ye, am not gannin in the Blue Bell
  17. I'm sure that all the big retailers have someone on the judicial system So this means that they have the wrong people, if they have not reported this vital statistic back to their bosses Many in the judicial system are now looking elsewhere for a re-numeration package
  18. Thats why it is in Bedlington so there is no prejudice to all the law breakers, they all have roughly the same distance to travel. With the exception of Newbiggin but who gives a damn about them anyway Another reason its in Bedlington is because no other town wanted those who are summonsed to court roaming their Streets before going up in front of the Beak, but it's ok for them to roam Bedlington because we don't exist to anyone else in this county! So for that reason only I will say yes, it will remain open because if it closes it means they will have to transfer business to some other part of the county and we can't have that can we!!! ;)
  19. Where we are now Pete!
  20. Yeah, there speciality dish is General Custer....d with apple crumble
  21. well seen she does't visit this site Malcolm
  22. I agree that the proposed development of Tesco is much needed for Bedlington, the question is; Where are the hangers on that usually follow Tesco around, like bees around the honey pot? Are they waiting to see if the 'gamble' Tesco are taking in Bedlington pays off? Or do they see that Bedlington will be nothing more than a one horse town. Elliots garage, I think, is ideally situated for some kind of retail outlet. The court house, if planned closure is implemented, with some vision or rebuild could be turned into some kind of shopping mall! I'm in cloud cuckoo land here, but we really need,as Malcolm says, some kind of business plan for Bedlington and not just redevelopment for the sake of it! Alright the place is a mess but do we need to replace one mess with another?
  23. There's still a few of those women knocking about in Bedlington now, I'm sure!
  24. Thought you'd got a picture of the flats on the old school site on bin day :jump:
  25. Hillbilly, don't get the impression that I am against development in Bedlington. It is the manner of such development which concerns me! The flats on the old school site have thrown up so many problems that planners seem to have ignored,or not even considered in the first place.Access for one, I'm not going to go over old ground as this has already been discussed on here. Don't you think that instead of a block of flats, a few dwellings built of sandstone would have been better? I know that money is and always will be the major factor, but come on, do we need this on the Front St? Surely some compromise could have been met. As for Elliots I can't comment as I don't know what is going to be put in its place, but I guarantee it will be something that Bedlington does not need on the Front St. I hope you see where I am coming from. Yes we need development but it should be, at least, considered development! As for the fast food outlet idea on the Netto's site, I think this could work. As Cympil has mentioned Asda have been told that they have to sell 47 of the Netto premises. The one at Blyth must be a certainty! Will Asda want a small outlet in Bedlington having to compete with a large Tesco just a few hundred yards away? I don't know. We'll just have to wait and see.
