Thanks for the support guys! It is a pretty sad indictment on politics these days............even with a small 'p'. I had to see the NCC solicitor the other day to sign some forms and he said this was the worst he has even seen any threatening behaviours. Hope its all behind now and I can just get on with the job! Its difficult enough!

5th Form from 1958-59 school year reunion do held somewhere in Ashington. Organised by June Grundy nee Ham who lived in Ashington and attended the school from 1954 to 1961. Info from June's husband Malcolm Grundy who met June at university. Malcolm does not know the other people in the photo. Malcolm found a list of names that June had documented whilst organising the reunion. Photo posted on the Bygone Bedlington Facebook group and ex BGS pupil Janice Mathews nee Metcalf has named a few. The names of those that attended the reunion are all on the following photo :- -

Subsequently it became Bedlington Grammar School, before turning comprehensive in 1974. It gained Maths and Computing College status in 2009. Ex pupils you should know :- Sir Bobby Charlton CBE & Sir John Hall, who built the MetroCentre -

Yes, the so-called Democratic Party is now packed out with crazies. If they can't rig the vote, they will use any other means to prevail. There are elements in the Labour Party that, if they ever get power, will never relinquish it. They scream fascist at their opponents, but are in fact the real fascists.

That is horrendous, Malcolm!! What is politics coming to? It sounds as if we are in America, but we are in Bedlington! It just makes no sense at all.
-
What a sad tale you tell Malcolm, how has it come to this? I'm pleased you persevered as much as you could and were justly rewarded with the help from your supporters, I'm sure you will continue to give the service that you have in the past. I hope the police can trace the person/people who made the threats but I won't be holding my breath till they do!

It's confirmed on NCC's website. Well done Malcolm! https://beta.northumberland.gov.uk/elections/2025-county-council-election-results-summary
