  1. Here it is... The same picture is also in the galleries.
  2. Moved. I'm pretty sure there's already another Humford Woods thread around here somewhere with pictures. I'll hunt it down and post a link.
  3. Love it! best one yet.

  5. Yeah you can't beat a good set of trailing tail lights. Incidentally, if anybody has any video footage of the town themselves, get in touch. It'll be far more interesting if it's community led and not just a couple of people's perspective.
  6. If any of you were wondering what I was doing sat at the side of the road this afternoon, I was getting some intro test shots for a promotional video for the town. It was very windy and I only took my lightweight tripod so the camera took a bit of a bashing and no colour correction has been applied. The footage is not as good as the final results will be I just wanted to get something up quickly to inspire people in order to gather some feedback and suggestions. What I was thinking was a day in the life of bedlington, showcasing some of the local businesses, candid and impromptu encounters in the street, whatever the market place events may be at the end of the month, the night time social scene and some local imagery. I think time lapse will play a big part due to the extended timeframe of events and it will allow people to see the town how they wouldn't normally see it. Bedlington singer/song writer Jason Vare AKA Shagpile has also very kindly agreed to provide the backing track. You can listen to some of his music at http://shagpile.org/ http://www.vimeo.com/6799846
  7. Reading between the lines this is a tax on the supermarket per parking space. I very much doubt supermarkets will introduce direct charging as it would involve extra expense in converting existing car parks and installing meters/barriers. If it did come into force I'd expect it to end up on your shopping bill through increased product prices.
  8. Maybe not every one
  9. It's on the BBC iPlayer mate, whole match.
  10. Watching Ipswich v Newcastle, Match of the Day. BBC have done a great job of the intro, some of Bobby Robson's great moments in football, very moving.
  11. I think that will be a popular suggestion, although if it's anything like the first incarnation of the previous market place regeneration we may get that from mother nature for free.
  12. did I not say that?
  13. Do you want to see parking charges introduced in Bedlington?
  14. Masonic Hall next to the Old Police Station?
  15. Yes, naturally the birthplace of the modern railways should be a feature! I recently heard that the first letter sent via penny post was sent from Bedlington as well. Where is the banner going to be displayed?
  16. Poll added to the discussion.
  17. Elliotts Garage?
  18. Market Place Club?
  19. or the compromises that come with the title.
  20. Nope, personal opinions however radical or contrary to the views ofthe moderators themselves are left intact. Only posts that fall foul ofthe site rules for abusive, hateful, obscene or illegal content are removed. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it Not usually no, on the rare occasion a post is removed it is only because of the reasons I have just mentioned. There is a facility for moderators to add comment to edited posts but there is usually no reason to edit posts if they don't fall foul of the rules. Because of it's nature as a community site, like Mr Darn says: "Just about anything goes".
  21. Full story with pics here... http://www.bedlington.co.uk/2009/09/fire-on-barrington-industrial-estate/
  22. A small blaze broke out in a yard on Stephenson Way, Barrington Industrial Estate at around 4pm this afternoon. Police quickly closed off the road and two fire engines from Morpeth and Cramlington fire stations were in attendance. The Cramlington pump was first on the scene, slightly delayed due to the much debated restrictive width problems of Barrington Road and a spooked local riding school horse coming in the opposite direction. According to one firefighter at the scene, the fire was believed to have started amongst some wooden palettes with tyres and sleepers adding to the fuel. Bedlington.co.uk member John W SNRG said: "I was on my way down Barrington Road as emergency services arrived. Oncoming vehicles wisely pulled onto the verge to allow the water laden appliances easy passage". Nobody was available to comment on the cause of the blaze. There were no injuries and due to the direction of the wind, nearby buildings also escaped damage with smoke visible from as far away as Guide Post and Blyth.
  23. Great idea. It's about time we put together another "Monthly" newsletter.
  24. An outdoor movie screen would be pretty good but perhaps a little unrealistic.I hope the lightings up to scratch.
